    Greatest Phillies Team Ever?

That last post on the '80 Phillies got me wondering, which ball club do Phillies fans believe was their greatest team ever?

I guess I'll go for 2011, but 1980 and 2008 are serious contenders, as they both won the Series and had better offenses.

I will note we had some discussion on the issue in this thread: http://www.baseball-fever.com/showth...lies-team-ever
Seen on a bumper sticker: If only closed minds came with closed mouths.

Some minds are like concrete--thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

its tough to not choose a Ws winning team but I think that 77 team was the best team they had. 2011 would be a close 2nd.

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

Even though the 1980 team won the World Series I think the 1976-77 teams were far stronger.

I can't even put 2011 in the top 10. Its in the all-time top 10 of unrealized potential. Of untimely hitting as well.

    P.S. I voted 77'.
