DM Classic IV Keeper League - Rosters

--Once we begin drafting I'd like everyone to get a roster page up to keep track of their picks and the salaries assigned to them. Once the draft is over and we are preparing to play games your lineups, rotations, managerial profiles, etc will also be here. I'd like to keep this thread exclusively for this purpose with one page per team.
--I'll put up a shell for my team in the next post. Please set your roster up according to this format, although you don't need to duplicate my assortment of positions and pitchers.

    538280 Cannons

Defunct (1961-67). Despite being a very competitive ballclub (3 playoff berths and a championship in their 6 seasons) the Cannons experienced steadily declining attendance. The team went into receivership during the 66-67 offseason and opened 1967 under league control. When efforts to find local ownership failed the team was sold to Sockeye Inc of Los Angeles and changed its name to the Sockeye Angels. Sockeye Inc ran into some legal problems during the 1969 seasons and lost their franchise. The team moved to Milwaukee for 1970 and had another name change (Milwaukee Iron).

    Mac's Hard Cider

Mac was an original owner and dominated the Cartwright division, winning 16 of 17 years, from our 1961 startup until taking a "leave of absence" prior to the 1978 season. The Hard Cider were the winningest team in CKL history at that point with 3 championships under their belt. Sadly the LOA is looking permanent. You are missed Mac.

--The Redbirds were one of the original 1961 team under owner Scott Carter. They won finished in 2nd in the Johnson Division the first two seasons, winning the wild card in 1962. That early success was built on veteran players though and the team fell off badly in 1963 and set a league record for losses in 1964. The team moved from Boston to Minneapolis to start over. The rebuild was making headway towards the end of the decade, but when Scott fell ill and had to give up the team. New local ownership could not be found. The team was acquirred by Classic and relocated to Cincinatti. Subsequently the team was acquired by Sockeye, renamed the Angels and moved to Houston.

"A ballplayer has to just go out and be mean. You can't play half-heartedly. If you do, there's someone right over your shoulder that'll take your job away. If you don't do your job, what they're paying you for, why should they pay you? You just can't put in eight hours, that's what a lot of people don't realize about athletes. Very few people realize the pressure." Dave Kingman

Everyone please make sure you have an updated roster post in this thread. After you get the update complete make a note that it is updated for 1979 so other owners know its a reliable source - and don't forget to comeback and update again once the roster is rounded out. Thanks
