1) Toby Harrah - regular for 8 years, starting with his rookie season in 72. For the middle 4 of them Harrah was an offensive force like no other SS this decade and rivaling Petrocelli in CKL history. He average 25 HR over 90 RBI and well over 100 runs scored for that strech.
2) Bert Campaneris - Campy was a steady performer for the entire decade with a couple outstanding seasons mixed in. Of course, his coming in on #2 on the ballot is more of a testament to the state of the SS position this decade than his greatness.
3) Roy Smalley - solid two way player in the second half of the decade.
4) Chris Speier - regular for the run of the decade who played solid defense and didn't embarass himself with the bat.
5) Garry Templeton - solid contributor to the rise of the Dust Bunnies

1. Toby Harrah - Best offensive shortstop of the decade, and wasn't a total slug with the glove.
2. Roy Smalley - Good offense and defense.
3. Bert Campaneris - As Mark says, he was a solid performer for the entire decade and was pretty decent both at bat and in the field.
4. Chris Speier - Ditto what Mark says.
5. Rick Burleson - Could be construed as another homer vote, but he played far more games than Templeton at short during the decade and was nearly as good offensively. He just edges out Robin Yount, who committed 65 more errors in three more games.
