--I can't imagine that Morgan, Grich and Carew (or Morgan, Carew and Grich) won't be our threesome, but had a harder time coming up with 2 more to round out the ballot and the first wave of stat lines. Dave Cash and Ted Sizemore get the nod based on each playng over 1,000 game at 2B in the decade. Let me know who else you might like to have a look at.

--Here is HUnt and Johnson who each had a first team All Star selection and some MVP support in their best seasons.

    1) Joe Morgan - with 3 MVPs and another top 10 finish he is a pretty easy choice and a strong contender for Player of the Decade
    2) Rod Carew - another easy choice and another future Hal of Famer
    3) Bobby Grich - if not for injuries could have taken the 2nd team slot from Carew
    4) Davey Johnson - big drop off, but he had two excellent seasons early in the decade and contributed in a few more
    5) Dave Cash - steady performer for most of the decade

    1. Morgan - Along with Bench, Stargell, and Jackson he's one of the elite players of the decade.
    2. Carew - Another future HOFer.
    3. Grich - Injuries derailed him in 77 and 78, but he got back on track last year.
    4. Cash - Steady but unspectacular.
    5. Hunt - I'll take his OBP over Johnson's power.

I prefer Hunt to Johnson as well, although it's pretty much a coin flip.
    1. Joe Morgan
    2. Rod Carew
    3. Bobby Grich (if not for the injuries, he moves ahead of Carew)
    4. Dave Cash
    5. Ron Hunt

I did consider Davey Lopes, but both Hunt and Johnson beat him out.
