20th anniversary of the current Phillies uniforms and colors...And other thoughts...

Everyone: 2012 is the 20th Anniversary of the current Phillies uniforms and I thought that perhaps the Phillies can note
this by wearing a commemorative patch of some type and also offering special uniforms noting this that can also be auctioned
off for the Phillies ALS Charity on Monday August 27th...

I recall that the Phillies had an unveiling back in 1992 of these new uniforms then and they even noted that unveiling in the
1992 NL Green Book by not showing any uniform picture in it...

The Phillies brought back their primary red color instead of the maroon used on the "P" uniforms especially since the changes
made in 1988 which were for example going from light blue to gray color on road uniforms along with Rawlings making all MLB
uniforms then for all teams-previously each team had different uniform contracts...

As we know the Phillies have been quite successful using these uniforms-especially in recent years and the added red/blue
colors on the white alternate home jerseys which are a throwback of sorts are interesting...

Let me also mention the 1993 NL Champion Phillies and add that a reunion and/or commemorative patch noting that team would be
an interesting promotion thought looking forward to the 2013 season-they were the first successful Phillies team to wear the current
    uniform type...

Does anyone have any thoughts about if the Phillies should commemorate this anniversary?
I feel that it is noteworthy because baseball teams change uniforms and colors more then any of the other major sports...

If I remember correctly, Lenny Dykstra got hurt on Opening Day in his second or third at bat in the new uniform and then missed a significant amount of time in '92.
Aside from the Yankees, Dodgers and Cubs, who are traditionalists and never change their uniform style, 21 seasons with the same uniform style is a very long time in the major leagues these days.
The Phillies do use their alternate uniform for home day games, which works out to about 20-25 games per year. This one has a blue cap and a little more blue in the trim and I believe the blue undershirt with long sleeves for cold weather. It was introduced at the start of the 2008 season. It is a modern version of the uniform the Phillies used just after World War Two from 1946 to 1949. (Actually the 1946 uni was a little different from the 1947-49 one and the current alternate uni is highly reminiscent of the 1947-1949 one, just with lighter, cooler modern fabrics). It too had a bit more blue in the color scheme, plus some red.
Perhaps the Phillies could introduce one more alternate unfiorm, and I'd be in favor of one, however, I wouldn't want to see them become like the Pirates and have a different uniform style for each day of the week. That said, the Phillies Front Office execs are rather conservative by nature and I doubt that any uniform changes are in their plans at present.
