What do you guys expect out of Matt Moore going forward? I think it's pretty obvious his walk rate is somewhat unacceptable (on pace for 80 or so), but his hits against isn't bad, he doesn't get killed by the long-ball, and his strikeout rate is solid. His ERA has dropped in each of his last six starts, so I'd assume that's a great sign.

Do you think he can take the next step in his advancement next year? Do you like his mechanics?

I think his development is even more advanced than David Price was at that age. He enjoyed success so quickly last September and in the postseason, that maybe we expected too much too soon from him in April & May. He was still learning how to pitch, not just throw it by hitters like had done all his life to that point. The last few months, he has really matured and, he could be the ace of the staff in a few years IMO, has cut down on his walks too. Shields will be 33-34, Price may price himself out of Tampa Bay eventually, especially if he wins Cy Young. He's on a 1 year deal in 2012 and would be in line for a big raise.

At least you turned it back on again. I was shocked to wake up and find out they came back from an 8-0 hole. We get Luke Scott back in the lineup this week, and we actually have a lineup now that can get some hits. Add that to this pitching staff, and September can get very interesting again this year.

I still don't think Cobb is a MLB Pitcher far too inconsistent

But we got options. Niemann will be back in early September, Archer could be brought back up, they could try and stretch out Wade Davis to at least go 5 innings. But as a #5 SP, Cobb is still pretty decent.

Those 8 runs in 3 or so innings say otherwise before Neimann went down he was pitching very very very well.

Rays tied a major league record last night for most consecutive wins after having a perfect game thrown against them, with 5.

Great pitching duel tonight with Price and Hochevar...0-0 in the 9th inning. It would be nice to get a walk off, when was the last time we had one of those?

You folks are lucky that none of your starters are guranteed lossses.

I am convinced if Rays make the playoffs they will make it further than this wretched pitching Yankees.

Not a good way to end the homestand before starting another road trip. No Sunday game tomorrow thanks to the RNC, that will be odd. Hope they get out of town before Isaac arrives...

Whats the RNC? I was wondering why the Rays aren't playing tomorrow.

The Republican National Convention is in town. Tropical Storm Isaac might have postponed the game anyway.

First time there's been a scheduled off day on a Sunday since 1995, according to today's paper. The worst of the weather hasn't even gotten here yet, and may miss us all together.

They didn't play today and I am kinda surprised the Republican National Convention would stop them from playing.

I haven't seen Raysfan98 i'm guessing he attended the RNC or his house was blown away by the hurricane.
