If the Rays are to hold on tonight, Rodney will need a 4 out save. Gonna be tough with that lineup he will face...
Price finally got to win 18
I turned on my radio this morning and someone, probably a Yankee fan, on WFAN whined and complained about Fernando Rodney's cap.
NO HANDBALL PLAYING IN THIS AREA
The end of the Rays 2012 season as we know it. This might be the offseason where we will finally have to trade pitching for hitting, especially when Upton will be gone, and Pena not likely to be brought back (not that he's been hitting but he is still OK on defense), Keppinger is a FA etc. There are way too many holes in this lineup to where the pitching cannot make up the difference.
I think our season is pretty much over with.
Also they really **** the bed this road trip looked like crap against Bal and NYY What the hell man do they not want to play in October baseball?
I am hearing the fat lady got onto a plane and is headed to Tampa and warming up for a big show here.
Not only have the bats gone to sleep for good, now the defense has deserted us. 3 errors last night and 3 more so far tonight. I guess the pitching is the next to go. Stick a fork in them and get working now on the 2013 lineup, Andrew!!
Oh so now the offence decides to show up?"
Your offense showed up at the same time ours croaked.
This is how messed up this Red Sox fan is. Part of me is hoping you beat us...just to drive more nails into Our Fearless Leader's coffin.
Please...boo Valentine all you want at The Trop. Not one Sox fan will oppose you.
Man, do I *HATE* the Yankees!!!!!!
I'm calling it now: the Rays will make up three games on the Orioles over the next ten and then sweep them in the final three to force a tie-breaker.
The Rays still have the best starting and relief pitching in the AL, the most walks, the most stolen bases, and probably the healthiest September roster I've seen of any team...ever. Meanwhile the Orioles are STILL -10 in run differential. The ball will stop bouncing their way at some point. If the Rays can go 3-7 over their last ten games then so can the O's over the next ten.
Then maybe, just maybe, we can have another historic game 162.
I hope you are right Yaz, but our team has been schizo like this the whole season. Just when you think you can't watch the boring offense another night, they put up 13 runs. Now, it was Dice K , so I'm not that excited about it, and their bullpen had major control issues. The Orioles seem to have that karma each night like we did in 2008...14 straight extra inning wins, their record in 1 run games, different guys stepping up every night. Talking heads have been predicting the O's to come down to earth for 3 months now at least, and I haven't seen any signs of that happening.
Why can't this team give Price any kind of run support.
It was refreshing to see the offense wake up and we get a walk off win. And tonight 12 runs...in one game...amazing what a little confidence can do. Too little too late, but we'll take it.
Sweep of the jays lets go sweep the Sox now
Still hanging in there...162 strong. Have to admit I watched the Bucs today, should've watched the Rays and seen one Tampa Bay team win a game for a change.
There's still hope. The Rays play Boston and slumping Chicago next. Not sure if they can get within 3 games of the Baltimore in that stretch but it's looking like they might be able to catch Oakland over 9 games. If nothing else, the Rays' confidence level is high again.
Hope the Rays bats stay hot going up north...night games in late September can be like night games in mid April up there. One shot off the end of the bat can keep your hands numb the rest of the night. Price tomorrow goes for #19.
