Colocolo--
Some great pics you have there.
When I visited, I entered on the East Side of the stadium and didn't get a chance to see the West Plaza.
One thing that is very different from Joe Robbie Stadium (at least on the East Side of stadium) is that the entry system to get you to the concourses is on the interior, whereas at Joe Robbie you had those great big spiral ramps on the outside of the stadium. (It looks like the West Side of Marlins Park has one such similar ramp, but I think every other entrance point is interior). The way you enter the park, you don't see any of the stadium proper, and then you go up the escalators and then--boom--you are on the walkway in left field directly looking over the entire park, and you can see everything. It's kind of a cool dramatic way to first see the stadium.

Great shots, I surprised at how bright it is when the roof is closed and the sky is overcast. I still wish they could have done a Teflon type roof that allows more light in, but I completely understand why after Andrew hit that town.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
Thanks Guys...I didnt know how to reduce the size of the pics, a tad smaller would have been better, I even tried putting them in a picture album here with a link for all to see, and that did not work either.
Chevy114...I hope never to see another Andrew in my life..the family and I lived like gipsies for 9 months, but we didnt move out of Dodge, like many other people did.
I hope the roof stays in place for a loooong time !!!![]()

PeteU .... we didnt know better...and since it was pouring outside, right on the West side we actually walked the ramp all the way up to the Vista Level (The top of the place)...Of course NEVER seeing the inside until we walked in....then BINGO, the awesome view into the stadium looking right down into the batters box.
The picture of the plaza doesnt show the beautiful tile work on the floor, on another trip I will take pictures of it.

Anybody willing to get some shots from these locations? I'm curious how much of LF is cut off from view.

Not sure, but I did sit in the section on the other side of the roof column (the one closer to left field). Just a very small portion of the left field corner was cut off. The column blocked my view of the upper deck behind home plate but didn't obstruct the field itself.

Looks like the spotty grass patches were not figments of my imagination:

In other news, Heath Bell has been reassigned from his prior position of closer to the Marlins grounds crew.

The Marlins Seat view for Section 322, Rows 9-13 doesn't appear to indicate any obstruction from the column.

Then again,
a) It is a computer simulation, not a real picture
and
b) It doesn't give you an idea of the seats immediately against the railing, where there could still be an obstruction from the column.
So I wouldn't know. Next time I go, I'm curious to see for myself.

I WILL most definetely be to the East and West of the columns on the next outing...This has got me puzzled now.

Section 322 is the LF column. Section 318 is the 3B column which seems to be much more obtrusive.
I would assume seats in sec. 318 along the left side from rows 10-16 would have no way to see the LF corner or even the foul pole.
Assuming this seat viewer is fairly accurate there's quite an obstruction even from the middle of the section at row 9 or 10.
I'd love to see a shot from the seats along the aisle in rows 14-16 of section 318.

Again....Gimme time and I will MOST definetely take pics from the Sections in question on my next outing to the Park...

Workers Dedication Wall. Pretty cool feature. I can imagine it is something special for a guy who poured concrete at the park to show his kids.

I love the Marlins park i hope the Rays get one like this soon.
The design of the stands looks more like a European soccer stadium than the sort of design used in recent ballparks. In some ways it's refreshing to see someone not try to create a retro park. The park would look nicer if they changed the wall color to something less green.
2nd person complaining about the bright green, interesting...because the blues and the greens, for my taste...they blend very nicely...Tropical, but were are we ??
