Cory Wade. Get rid of him.

2 losses in a row at home to terrible wHITE sOX is unacceptable.

I think everybody agrres with you and will be surprised if he is not sent down (maybe today). I am more upset about the lost the night before (I always think of that error Mo made with Arizona)

Wade was great for nearly a year. Fine with sending him down or dl if we can. But i would still rather have him than Epply long term.

No sweep at least, Kuroda looked good.

Still cant believe he has the lowest ERA on the team though. Often he seems to struggle.

Seems like he's totally lost out there. No confidence at all. When that's gone, a pitcher is pretty much toast. Relegate him to mop up or send him down to work on his stuff.

Kuroda is on fine. Looking forward to Hughes continuing to give quality starts.
"After my fourth season I asked for $43,000 and General Manager Ed Barrow told me, 'Young man, do you realize Lou Gehrig, a 16-year-man, is playing for only $44,000?' I said, Mr. Barrow, there is only one answer to that - Mr. Gehrig is terribly underpaid."- Yankees outfielder Joe DiMaggio

I agree. Relievers are volatile. Give him a chance to work it out. Either low leverage or in minors. He has been too good to cut bait just yet.

Solid 8 innings from Hughes. Rocky 1st, tremendous 7.

No HR. Cant ask for more.

It's nice to see Phil step up his game lately, and I'm hoping for a strong 2nd half. If he doesn't put it all together this year and prove that he's a reliable Major League starting pitcher, then he probably never will. I think he can do it.

Wade has been designated to Triple A so the Korean must be happy. (wonder what's is going to complain about next) Surprised with Quail. Tied. Tampa is always tough. OK this is back to back games Roberson was not himself so now I am not happy. Wondering if Roberson came back too soon.

Ugh. Tough loss. I hope someone takes Rodney's head off with a line drive some day. Him and Valverde I can do without.

Will someone sit our 3B coach for a talk? He always seems to be sending runners home when he shouldn't. Ibanez should have been out if the throw was on target. And he had no business sending Cano home on that double.....

We deserve to lose this game....

I don't mind taking a chance on sending Cano in that situation. He was the tying run and they had to execute a perfect relay to get him (granted he was out by a mile). He wouldn't have sent him if there were no outs.

I wouldn't be complaining if that was Gardner. With Gardner's speed, it would have been close. But, Cano isn't that fast. The throw would have to be really off target to give Cano a chance to score.

How much different is what Rodney does with the bow and arrow, than what Soriano does by yanking out his uniform shirt after a save? Neither is trying to show up the other team...at least they don't do a double somersault to shake hands with their catcher

    ^Good point.

Valverde is still an arrogant git though.

    Yup, a sweep. ugh.

Fair point. I guess I'm somewhat biased :-)

One is over the top and one isn't?

Why can't everyone be like Mo? Just walk off the mound, shake the catchers hand, etc?

It is likely the difference in mental attitude and class.

    Thanks.

Who here would have thought for a minute the Yankees would be in the position they are, after all the injuries, some minor, some very major? All teams suffer injuries, that is the nature of the game, how the team copes and responds defines character and resilience, and least not, depth.

Focusing on the positive is frowned upon by some in this thread....But yes, I think it's quite amazing that the Yanks are in 1st place, considering what they've been through.

Then I may ruffle some feathers. I always look at the positive and the glass as half full instead of half empty. Those who dwell on the negative would never make a good team mate.

    Ugly 1st inning for Kuroda.

And what happened to Swisher's patience? He has been horrible with his plate discipline this year. A few nights ago swings at a ball in the dirt. Tonight swings at a 3-0 pitch and grounds out.....
