Halladay looking very shaky today. Too many guys getting on base.

And as I say that, Freeman hits an absolute bomb.

Back to back innings with Roy giving up a walk to lead things off. I'm hoping this season is simply just one of those years and we're not witnessing a total meltdown where even the rigourous-training Halladay is no match for father time. But I'm feeling we may be seeing Roy as simply a #3 pitcher next year.

So much for that. Halladay couldn't find the plate and is over 50 pitches while being yanked in the 2nd after a bases loaded double by Heyward.

He hasn't looked right for much of this season. Ever since a start in Chicago last year, Roy seems to sweat profusely and his face becomes beat red.

Final post on today's game. Down 7-0 with a lefty on the mound for the Braves does not bode well for this lineup. The Cards won with a late-inning Beltran homer, and the Phils can find themselves 4 games back by the end of the day. Less than a dozen games left - making up 4 is gonna be tough to say the least.

Now with the Phils officially eliminated from the postseason, the fun part begins with the retooling of this team. Amaro cleared alot of space with the deadline trades, so I expect him once again to make some kind of splash this winter whether it be via free agency or trade. This should be an entertaining winter.

Ryan Howard to miss rest of season after he dropped a bat on his foot and fractured his big toe.

Ryan's got $100M+ coming to him. If that's snakebit, than I'll happily offer my body parts for a venom test.

Was it one of Ruf's relatives, a coach, or Phillies' front office?
Seen on a bumper sticker: If only closed minds came with closed mouths.

Some minds are like concrete--thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

Which leads someboy like me to ask "why?". Why did Ruf play 1B? His only shot to be a player in the ML is that as a LF for this team. Charlie's so hooked on saving his job that he's not putting players into positions that can help this team long-term... instead he's looking short-term and that helps nobody IMO.

And Charlie's doing it again today. Ruf is back at 1B once again and for the second straight day, Orr's playing 3B.

28-year-old righthander, Tyson Brummett was added to the roster October 1 for the final series. If he gets into a game it will be his major leagues debut.
Tyler Cloyd was scratched from his final scheduled start today due to a tired arm. His combined major and minor leagues total of 200.0 Innings pitched (IP) is about 25 % more innings than he has ever pitched in any previous professional season. BJ Rosenberg, who alternated between starter and reliever in the minors, starts today for the Phillies against The Nationals' Gio Gonzales. Brummett may see some work in relief. Cliff Lee will go for the Phillies against Edwin Jackson at 1:05 in the afternoon in Wednesday's season finale. Both pitchers scheduled for the finale have had disappointing, bad luck seasons. The Phillies (81-79) will try to top .500 while the Nationals at 96-64 , .600 win. pctg. are fighting for the best record in the National League with the Cincinnati Reds.
Kyle Kendrick (11-12, 3.90 ERA) gave an outstanding effort in pitching 7 shutout innings for the win yesterday. Phillippe Aumont got his second major leagues Save. Darin Ruf's two run triple to centerfield in the second inning provided the games only runs as the Phillies topped the Nationals 2-0, Monday night.

Gio's sitting out this so the Nationals can set up their postseason rotation. Makes total sense now that they've clinched. Tom Gorzelanny will pitch in his place.

Ooooo. Rosenberg against Gorzelanny... Where can I get tickets to this one?
