Are the Sox for real?
Rios, Dunn and Peavy are playing very well which makes me wonder if having Ventura as manager instead of Guillen has made this team better. Time will tell but I think with this pitching staff and deep bullpen the Tigers may have some competition. Even Brett Morel is playing well and with a ex thirdbaseman like Ventura to watch over him he may even have a decent year. Konerko and Pierszynski are solid and our leadoff hitter seems to be halfway decent.
The playoffs aren't out of the question for this team. This Boston series will show alot.
1. Jake Peavey
2. Chris Sale
3. Phillip Humber
4. Johnny Danks
5. Gavin Floyd
This is a pretty strong staff. I think it's better than Detroits and Verlander is no doubt a top 2 or 3 pitcher in baseball but with Fister questionable and Porcello getting hit hard they may be in more trouble than some experts think.

"(Shoeless Joe Jackson's fall from grace is one of the real tragedies of baseball. I always thought he was more sinned against than sinning." -- Connie Mack
"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)
