The Detroit Tigers surprisingly rocky start at 20-23 through 5/23/12 has lowered Jim Leyland's lifetime major leagues managerial record to exactly .500 at 1608-1608.

If he stays at that for the rest of the year, he won't have a chance to get back to .501.

Leyland needs to go 82-80 over a normal 162 game schedule to reach .501. Should there be one cancelled game that is not made up he can also reach .501 if the Tigers went 81-80.
Leyland has gone 10-10 since the post that initiated this thread, meaning that he is now 30-33 on the year, and he's back to exactly .500 for his career at 1618-1618.
(through 6/14/12).
I honestly don't give a darn about Leyland's record. What I, and the rest of the regular posters on this forum want, is for Leyland to stop playing favorites so much and for the team to actually start performing like the defending division champs that they are. I hope (and expect) his personal w-l record is not a concern of his as the season rolls on and the Tigers underperform.
If he is at .500 at the end of the year, I don't want him back.
