    Pretty funny.... and well put.

And Kevin, we are not acting as though Braun woke up one morning and snapped his fingers - presto!

Why did you not answer the question about which other roof/park has these asinine issues? Prick one out and tell us.

Those photos are absolutely hilarious. Apologies to Brewers fans (I know several, one of which was in my wedding) who have ALL been great people... But WTF is up with that situation. Completely ridiculous.

    Oh, just a few.

    Yankee stadium:

    Even your beloved Busch stadium:

Shadows make hitting tough at Busch Stadium

Hitters from both clubs were frustrated on Monday by the hitting conditions at Busch Stadium, thanks to a 3:15 p.m. CT start on the Labor Day holiday in a game Milwaukee won, 4-1, over St. Louis. By approximately the second inning, shadows had crept from behind home plate into the field of play, leaving the sort of field that every hitter dreads. Hitters were standing in shadow, while pitchers were throwing from a place of bright sunshine.
Oh look, shadows are even an issue at Roy Hobbs' AT&T Park:

    Dodgers stadium:

I could go on, but you get the point.

Shadows are an issue at every stadium.

    ^ nice try

none of these have shadows with little holes of light in between them

you are advised to just admit it is a weird park with stupid shadows unlike any other park and not try to say others have the same

    they dont

    Wrong.

The roof and glass are causing MORE issue in Milwaukee, and on a different level. Shadows related to a unique game time? Stationary roof shadows? Best you can do?

    Wow.

Makes sense now. I wonder if any Yankee players want the Bronx rotated or moved.

lol, okay. Whatever you say. I think it's a cool park with a cool rustic design that matches the breweries and factories from Milwaukee's history, and I like the roof, but whatever you think.

    That statement is basically false.

Shadows are only an issue in many parks in late afternoon--usually around 5-6pm. That's why games are not usually scheduled to take place at that time. Standard day games end before shadows are an issue, and night games start after shadows are an issue.

Miller is the only park where shadows are an issue during a normal day game.

So you guys would weld steel plates over the windows? That would look like crap.

Now wait a second. No, I don't agree with you guys? What if the roof wasn't there and basically the entire green superstructure supporting the roof above the brick part was gone? Then this terrible terrible shadow from the glass windows would just be pure sunlight. I don't buy it. I don't think it's that terrible.

Just drape them with curtains for day games. The glass panels were a nice thought, but they do more harm than good.

Miller should have been either open air, or a Safeco-style roof. The "one-of-a-kind" fan-style/glass wall design has proved to be a mistake.

This is how a retractable dome should look for a day game.

Agreed. Good thing no one even came close to suggesting it.

It's easy to complain about the sunshine, but there's no easy way to fix it.

As good a photo as any for understanding the unique roof at Miller as well as the glass underneath it.

This is what hitters hate... P in sunlight, throwing into the shadows at the plate, making picking up spin on the ball difficult. A Met on the mound, photo from a Brewers blog, stating the photo is from Miller, so I went with it. This type of situation happens in many parks to some extent.

This is simply poor design... But is it? The glass is needed for sunlight to allow grass to grow properly?

Even fully closed, the shadows are unique... Did you know Miller is NOT air conditioned? I didn't.

I would never give him an MVP vote again. He is only on a low borderline hall of fame trajectory anyway. He is a good baserunner and a very solid corner outfielder but he's 28 this year and not half way to a HOF level yet.

It isn't. It does having heating but no air conditioning. The system does have the HVAC ducts in place should the team ever want to install air conditioning in the future, though. Considering that the Astros used the air conditioning at the old AstroDome to knock down opposing fly balls, the NL Central should be happy about this.

They have closed the roof a few times during day games in excessive heat and it does help a bit just to be out of the sun.

What does his Hall of Fame trajectory have to do with whether you would ever him him an MVP vote?

I first thought that I would not give him an MVP vote. Then I wrote that I would not. Then I wondered whether I would vote for him for the hall of fame, and decided that he wasn't really on track anyway, so what's what I wrote. I probably would actually vote for him though but I'd like to hear an explanation of the test results.
