    Here is a great bio of hard-throwing pitcher Elmer Wright, a Browns farmhand, who was killed on Omaha Beach in Normandy on D-Day.

    Minor Leauger Joe Pinder was also killed at Normandy. In January of 1945 he was awarded a posthumous Medal of Honor for his actions on June 6, 1944.
