Favorite Baseball Video Games?

I'm a big fan of the MLB 2K series, but as a kid, I really liked the "R.B.I. Baseball" series for the Nintendo. (It was how I initially came to learn about pitchers like McDowell, Clemens, Maddux, and so on.) I also played some sort of futuristic baseball game that was pretty cool, but it was for an older system (Maybe Sega CD, Sega Saturn, or Sega Genesis???) and I can't think of the name. If anyone could help with that, I'd appreciated it. (And no, I don't think it was "Baseball 2020")

Many of the other games I only played in passing like "Bases Loaded" and "Frank Thomas' Big Hurt Baseball", but maybe they are your favorites? Share and discuss!

MLB 2012 The Show for PS3 is incredible. Baseball Stars still the all time best however...

I would still say Micro League Baseball was my favorite. It let you create teams and had teams already made from the 27 Yankees to the 80 Phillies. In the winter time this was a big part of my youth.

I've never gotten to play "The Show". Would you say it is better than MLB 2K? I heard that the company who made the MLB 2K series had exclusive licensing for all player names and likenesses, so I wonder how "The Show" was able to use it as well.

Obviously because it's not "exclusive.". I've not heard anyone say the MLB2K series beats the Show. I'm sure there are some though. Does 2K have the ability to create rosters? Download them? Does it have historic stadiums (mandatory Polo Grounds to even be considered a video game imo).

MVP baseball 2004 and 2005 were my favorites.

I also liked All Star Baseball 2000, from way back in the old days.

The agreement, which runs from Spring 2006 to 2012, allows for the console manufacturers Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo to produce MLB titles for their respective platforms, but bars third party developers such as EA Sports from continuing or developing their own MLB games." (Upon further investigation, it is just not ENTIRELY exclusive. The Show was developed by Sony, so it was still able to use the names and likeness.)

Well I got 2 MVP 2005 is still one of the best. MLB 06 the show for the ps2 Awww memories.

The first baseball game I remember getting for myself was MLB '99 way back for the PS1. I enjoyed that game quite a bit. I've also enjoyed what I've played of MLB 13: The Show. And while I was never good at any of them, I played the heck out MVP Baseball 2004 and 2005.

But, honestly, going with personal favorites, my all-time favorite baseball game would have to be All-Star Baseball 2004.

MVP 2005. I still play it. MLB Slugfest 2006 is funny.

My daughter and I like to play baseball on the Wii...I think there's some kind of bug like the splitter is unhittable but always a strike, but we still have fun.
The only other baseball video game I've played was on the Atari 5200 (I had one of the 200 that were actually sold), I spent many hours messing with it despite the fact that you could position all your fielders right in front of home plate and catch anything immediately. A classic early game where every player was about a dozen pixels.

MLB The Show about six years ago only for the Home Run Derby. I would play that for hours at parks like Wagoneer Stadium (or Park or Field, whatever) and The Polo Grounds.
