From minor-league manager to late-season call up

Can you recall anyone else doing this? It happened to Eastern League manager Dick McAuliffe who was called up to play third base for the injured Rico Petrocelli during the Red Sox pennant drive of 1975 and therefore missed the last week of the Eastern league season. He had not batted once for his Eastern League team all year.

Mike Mordecai in 2005. He was called up I believe so he could qualify for 10 years of pension.
"Heck, all I got was a $100 check. I should have kept it and framed it, but I had to eat".

Infielder Bob Hegman, when asked if he received a World Series ring for playing one inning of one game with the World
    Champion 1985 Kansas City Royals.
