    1924 World Series Throwbacks tonight!

The Nats and Giants are commemorating Game 7 of the the 1924 World Series tonight.

For anyone who may not remember the Senators won it on a walk-off when Muddy Ruel scored in the bottom of the 12th and Walter Johnson captured his one and only World Series Championship.

Thats pretty cool the Nationals are remembering that series. I guess it's also decent of the Twins to be ok with the city of Washington honoring them too.
"(Shoeless Joe Jackson's fall from grace is one of the real tragedies of baseball. I always thought he was more sinned against than sinning." -- Connie Mack

"I have the ultimate respect for Whitesox fans. They were as miserable as the Cubs and Redsox fans ever were but always had the good decency to keep it to themselves. And when they finally won the World Series, they celebrated without annoying every other fan in the country."--Jim Caple, ESPN (Jan. 12, 2011)

I like the uniform. Wear it more often.

I saw clips from the game and both the Senators and NY giants throwback uniforms looked great and must have felt a half ton lighter and 30 degrees cooler than the old buggy, wool uniforms they wore back in '24.

I love the throwback uniforms in the Turn Back the Clock games. But there is more to them than the change in fabric. When they are cut like today's uniforms, they just don't look right. They should have gone for the baggier look, plus lengthened the sleeves.
