    Brad Miller

What are your thoughts on Brad Miller? Is he a future superstar? The kid is tearing it up in the minor leagues right now, hitting .341/.417/.530 with 10 home runs and 17 stolen bases for the High Desert Mavericks. Last year, he hit .415 in 14 games for the Clinton LumberKings. Is he someone Mariners fans are excited about?

Miller was drafted for his bat but California League stats are often very misleading due to it being such a hitters league.

A very small sample size so far (8 games) but he seems to be hitting AA pitchers even better. So far he is .400/.486/.633/1.119 with 2 HR in those 8 games. He is showing a good eye, taking some walks, shows some pop and has good speed on the basepath. He looks pretty good at the plate and has looked good since HS and college. There is a reason he was our 2nd round pick in '11.

Just hoping he does not get traded away in the meantime...

I do like that he can hit for contact and his power comes along instead of a power hitter who occasionally makes contact. He will continue to improve and grow stronger and the HR's will follow. Let him continue to work on good hitting and good plate patience and the rest should follow.
