I listened to a clip of this show where Kiana said she didn't know Jackie Robinson was in the hall of fame.

Kiana doesn't strike me as a baseball fan. At least she knows who Jackie Robinson was.

Actually, I think it was one of her kids that asked if Robinson was in the HOF.

I heard that six to eight episodes were filmed, but only four have aired. Has TLC pulled the plug on the series?
Pete's not being shown any love these days from MLB, from the HOF, TLC, or TV viewers.
Latest to join the anti-Rose crowd - Topps Baseball cards. On the back of it's current 2013 cards it's mentioned that a certain player is X amount of hits away from "the current all-time leader in hits" - without mentioning Pete Rose by name.

I couldn't agree with you more. But growing up I was a Pete Rose fan. So I'll probably watch out of curiosity more than anything else.

Pete, what happened? Why this woman? She's using you.

He's over 70. I should be so used now, let alone at that age.

He's probably on a certain PED just to keep up.

As someone who slid headfirst from the time he was ten years old through college (and tried to run to first after walks when he remembered, which wasn't often), all I can say is, "For God's sake, Pete, stop; please stop and keep what little (if any) dignity you have left!" This stupid show isn't going to get him any closer to the Hall of Fame than spending all of his waking hours hustling memorabilia in Vegas and hanging at the track in Florida. Does he have Michael Jackson's handlers working on his public image?

He turns 72 on April 14, so having a "Trophy Common Law Wife" or whatever less kind description you want to use for Ms. Kim, doesn't help his HOF chances, but it definitely doesn't taint his masculinity.

I won't judge Ms. Kim as a person. I don't know her. The nature of their relationship is their business. It also hold zero bearing on his HOF chances, which is about right. Personal non-baseball relationships have nothing to do with the HOF. I'm not sure everything Rose does needs to be part of his HOF candidacy.

I would add that none of us knows Pete Rose as well. Not as a person. If Pete and Kiana genuinely love each other than good for them! The only other poeple who would have any say in this is Kiana's two children.

Here's an interesting take on the TV show.

    I love this part!

Most scenes involve Pete meeting Kiana’s parents (her mother only calls him Hit King, probably due to the monogram on his shirt collars), bitching about Steve Garvey, or complimenting his fiancée on her looks. Trouble arises when Kim’s son doesn’t like playing baseball, or her daughter starts hanging out with boys, but that’s all boilerplate stuff. You could substitute any family in for those scenes.
What does Rose have against Steve Garvey?

Garvey can usually be found smiling, in the background, of photos, posters, etc. of Rose tipping his cap after breaking the hit record. That has to piss him off.

If she lived in LA (sounds likely for her profession), Steve had probably already hit on her.

Garvey probably hit on Kianna's mom back in the 1970's!
