Fox wouuldn't mind the A's in the series. They are West Coast team in a large TV market so they would love that.

I'd love that match-up, or A's vs Nats just because I think Washington has a great, young team.

Hey, where's our daily A's update Roy? Oh yeah, they lost.
The San Francisco Giants won the 2010 World Series and no one can ever take that away from me!

In 2012 they did it again. Nope, can't take that one away from me, either.

yeah those 16-3 streaks are devestating-
    1. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that many players are over-rated due to inflated stats from offensive home parks (and eras)

leading 5-0 after 2, the A's trailed heading into the 9th 9-8, those no offensive chumps only answered with a 6 spot to lead 14-9

note the Orioles were 41-0 when leading after 8 innings

Heading into July the A's had just lost 3 in a row to the Rangers and were 13 games back with a 37-42 record. Since then they have gone 18-3 and are now only 3.5 games back of the Rangers.

It's like that 2002 season when they won like 22 or 23 games in a row. If the Sox don't win im hoping the A's do.

Most teams can't win 86% of their games.

another incredible win for the A's, 15 inning walk - off (had to be) win
they have done something (can;t quite remember) that hasn;t been done by a team since the 1974 Dodgers - something like 9 walk off wins in their last 17 home wins

Billy Beane is proving once again that he is a genius.

2012 opening day payrolls - AL West

    LAA - $154,485,166
    TEX - $120,510,974
    SEA - $81,978,100
    OAK - $55,372,500 (2nd lowest in MLB)

I don't think they'll win the division, but even finishing .500 is a big accomplishment with a payroll of only $3 million more than the combined salaries of Alex Rodriguez and CC Sabathia.

Cespedes has been a great signing. And no way did I see Josh Reddick flourishing like he has in that park.

And they managed this last one while striking out a franchise-record 21 times... unbelievable!

Are the A's still linked to Stephen Drew? There was talk before about a possible trade, but haven't heard anything lately.

I guess even Billy Beane recognizes the A's are pretenders. Just traded his well respected starting catcher.

Is "well-respected starting catcher" a euphemism for a terrible player? The A's picked up Kottaras and have had Norris starting two out of every three games for awhile now.

Did they repsect his 536 OPS?
meanwhile they just added a C

Suzuki, 28, has dropped in production in recent years and is hitting .218 with one homer and 18 RBIs. He no longer was the No. 1 catcher and, for the first time in years, shared the position.
