Watching Highlights of Shields from last year and i truly am going to miss him.
Rays' 40-man roster is full. Gonna have to cut some fat in order to get K. Johnson, K. Farnsworth & L. Scott on there.
"Chuckie doesn't take on 2-0. Chuckie's hackin'." - Chuck Carr two days prior to being released by the Milwaukee Brewers
No big name signings but with so many low .200's hitters being replaced with .250-.280 hitters the season is looking pretty good.
I didn't like the Scott signing at first but he's supposedly in great shape and ready to play.
Joel Peralta suffers from sandwich-related injury:
I like the headline.
The Mets have the best, smartest fans in baseball.
"I go all out, and I'm going to bring that to the table everyday. In good times and in bad times." - Eric Byrnes
"As long as I have fun playing, the stats will take care of themselves." - Ken Griffey Jr.
"I saw Nolan Ryan throw 212 pitches in 11 innings one day. It messed him up so bad, he had to retire 16 years later at 46." - Reggie Jackson
"The value of a stat is directly proportional to how good it makes Steve Garvey look." - Nerdlinger
Is it just me or do baseball players suffer the most bizarre off the field injuries than athletes of any other professional sport??
I am slightly concerned about or young pitchers trying to cover the 200 plus innings of what Sheilds pitched lol
Niemann, Archer, and Odorizzi should be able to make up those innings without any problems. Plus, Price, Moore, Hellickson, and Cobb are all capable of putting up high IP numbers.
