I have a feeling quite a few people on the east coast missed the end of what was a very good game. That long power outage happened after 10pm and the score was 28-6 at the time.

Still, the game ended about 10:45, no later than the typical Monday Night Football game.

Does someone need to notify the Rolling Stones, et. al? But only for the coast, itself. The rest of the time zone can suffer.

The 2012 World Series drew as large a viewing crowd as the 2013 Pro Bowl.

So is baseball's popularity on the downhill or is the Pro Bowl's up?

I heard early numbers on SB viewers - it was pretty sick.

People watch the Pro Bowl because it is football, albeit a pathetic, bastardized version of it.

I am a bigger football than baseball fan and I watched zero plays of the Pro Bowl.

So was it Beyonce's halftime show that knocked out the power at the SB?

There are multiple scholars publishing theories. Including

The prevailing theory is a miscommunication between the Super Bowl entertainment and the Bubble Bowl entertainment

The NFL should probably think of having something besides a musical act as the halftime show.

How about a fashion show where people can model v-neck uniforms?

No major leaguers and my sources indicate no minor leaguers either. However, Pepper Davis, a well-known member of the AAGPBL, died yesterday.

If the power went out during game 7 of the WS how many people would be personally blaming Bud Selig for it?

They'd blame him if the power did not go out, either.

    Anybody gonna follow the draft?

I always find it fun to follow, though I don't sit in front of the TV the entire time. Odd year in that there are no real superstars, but good depth - especially at the "non-skill" positions. The two teams I follow are picking inside the top-5, so I've got to watch.

The draft this year was actually pretty entertaining even though very few skill positions were selected in the early rounds. This will hurt the football product put out by companies like Topps this year. Living in Philly and going with a new regime, I enjoyed it and was also happy with the moves the Raiders made - especially trading down early on. The NFL is amazing as its product carries weight over a full 12-month period and retains high relevancy.
