Lucky! Had a friend visit Australia last season and asked her to try and find me a Melbourne Ace's cap - she had no luck turning one up for me.

Black. I think it shows off the Sox logo better.

I've got all of the original caps, now I need to work on getting the alternates. Of the alternates I think Sydney and Canberra's are by far the best. The rest stink.

Hahaha I'll be rooting for the Heat to win next week...guess I'm one of the few though.

Sydney will be back again and strong next year...I definitely have them penciled in for a finals spot again next in 2014.

That's great! I was hoping that MLB Network would do something like that--but in my heart I wasn't expecting it!

I'm pretty sure they've broadcast it every year on MLB network.

I was avoiding reading anything until I could watch the game on MLB Network. It just finished. Canberra got the benefit of a major blown call by an umpire in the 2nd, but Perth fought back to tie it--and after that, Canberra won fair and square. Considering that Perth won the first 2 championships, I think it is good for Australian baseball to have a new champion. It can only increase interest in the next season.

Over the weekend the ABL held its annual awards ceremony and, in a surprise to nobody, Adam Buschini of the Cavalry walked away with the Helms (MVP) award.

Here are a run down of the award winners:

    Helms award: Adam Buschini (Canberra)
Pitcher of the year: Craig Anderson (Sydney)
Reliever of the year: Matt Williams (Sydney)
Rookie of the year: Ben Lodge (Adelaide)
Champion crusher award: Adam Buschini (Canberra)
Gold glove: Allan de San Miguel (Perth)/Stefan Welch (Adelaide) tie
Play of the year: Michael Wells' solo homerun to break the tie in game 2 of the grand final
Team administrators of the year: Perth Heat
    Chairman's award: Victorian government
