I never said that. Of course hitting that well is an asset.

Mo was Stargell w half the run. He was John Mayberry maybe? Real good hitter, roid suspicions, top 45 1b all time.

    Right on cue...

Sabermetrician Adam Darowski just released a saber-friendly version of Similarity Scores yesterday, in fact. Now we have two alternatives to chose from, given your persuasion.

Scroll down .5 of the page for info.

I posted for the similarity scores, not the Hall of Stats angle, but okay.

I checked out the hall of dWAR with contains Gene Tenace, which automatically makes it bogus. Besides being a scrub, Tenace played a lot of 1B. It also contains Joe Torre, who had big years, including his amazing 1971 MVP, at other positions.

What is the Hall of dWAR? I have never heard of it.

If you are referring to the link above (the Hall of Stats, as the creator calls it), I was only showing a different version of Similarity Scores since the BBref version was brought up and questioned in re: to Mo Vaughn. Not sure what Gene Tennace or Joe Torre has to do with Mo Vaughan or his Similarity Scores.

    I'm not sure if I would call a guy with a career OPS+ of 136 a scrub....

Still shocked that he won the MVP over Belle, or Martinez.
