What do you have to do with anything [not sarcasm]?

    Calm down bro.
"There has always been a saying in baseball that you can't make a hitter, but I think you can improve a hitter. More than you can improve a fielder. More mistakes are made hitting than in any other part of the game."
    - Ted Williams

"I know I'm the world's worst fielder, but who gets paid for fielding? There isn't a great fielder in baseball getting the kind of dough I get paid for hitting."

    And there is the rub...

Hamilton is one of the most physically gifted players I have ever seen. I would be curious to see just how many players have put together an April-May period like he did last year. He is capable of some pretty amazing things, but he just goes so hot and cold. That, combined with his obvious alcohol issues make him a tough sell. Having said that, it would not shock me at all to see him have a better season than he has had yet to date. I don't see it as likely, but this guy is just so talented that normal parameters might not apply to him.

I don't see him holding up April-May performance for an entire season, but we still might see something awesome, if he can figure things out. He can do things that are otherworldly when his head is straight, it's just a question of how often that is.

If he had never gotten involved in drugs I shudder to think of how great he could have been. Or maybe not. Maybe he would have been a star who swung at too many bad pitches and never (quite) lived up to the billing. I guess that's why I wonder about him, he seems to have a potential which has only been scratched.

I feel like he will end up with a sort of mythos about him. Like Joe Jackson or Mickey Mantle. That 'what could have been' factor.

Hamilton was hyped like Bryce Harper. Hamilton was rated even higher coming out of high school than Harper coming out on the College of Southern Nevada.
Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis
