I like that in the 2011 game, the one with Vargas and Wedge in the "1984" uniforms, they're wearing pants with elastic waistbands, thus enabling the appearance of additional stripes.

Anyone have any vintage Mariner memorabilia? Contact Kevin Martinez and let him know you want to see the Mariners' original colors again. Bring back the Trident!

v-neck pullover jerseys and sansabelt pants. Brandon League has never worn a better uniform the Seattle Mariners' 1981-1986 uniforms!

I love them. I love stripes. Without the pullover tops and sansabelts, there would be a lot less stripes. I am a big fan of the racing stripes on the Mariners' 1981-1986 jerseys. More stripes make a better world.

Like I said, the v-neck pullover along with sansabelt pants with the stripes are baseball's ultimate look, the right look. Gaylord Perry won his 300th game wearing the Seattle Mariners' best uniform.

The Mariners' 1985-1986 road jersey. A game worn Dave Henderson jersey. Looks great!

Kevin Martinez Seattle Mariners Vice President of Marketing:
This is what's wanted. This is what's needed. Act now and make it happen! The Mariners, well all teams, but especially the Seattle Mariners, need to adopt the pullover jersey and sansabelt pants as the official on-field game uniform. The sport needs this, the fans have responded, and they want to see it as well. Buttons and belts simply don't belong on the baseball diamond, that is undeniable.

Just go with something like the fun '85-'86 uniforms and be true to that great era, v-neck pullovers and striped sansabelt pants. The Mariners would be unique looking and the best dressed team in the sport. Though, I would make the numbers in the front about 15-20% smaller.

To Kevin Martinez; VP of Marketing,
The '80s Night' promotion that was held on July 1, 2011 was a huge success. The Mariners looked great in the "'84" uniforms. They looked so good that it people I've come across believe that it should be their permanent uniforms, well the look specifically from the '85 and '86 seasons. Those uniforms looked both contemporary and retro at the same time! The time is now to make the switch.
Sincerely,
Every Breathing Seattle Mariners Fan
The fans want the old logo, colors and uniforms back. I'm sure John Ellis will understand.
The old 1981-1984 Seattle Mariners powder blue road uniforms were terrific and should be used again in the future. They should be worn on holidays, rememberance days like April 15 and September 11, and possibly mid-week day games, both at home and on the road. That would be awesome but I recommend not using the white-panelled helmet. The Mariners' 1977-1980 powder blue uniforms were weak. The Mariners' 1981-1984 powder blue uniforms were great, class personified.

The fact that the Seattle Mariners' brilliant 1981-1986 uniforms makes certain people hot and bothered convinces me it's very important that the Mariners switch back to their old uniforms and logo permanently! The opposing views are priceless. Non-Mariners fans are jealous of what could and should be, just as I predicted!
Please replace the current NATO-looking compass rose logo with the logo we all know and love...
No wonder uniforms today are so baggy. I saw a Felix replica jersey online and the sizing was a joke, 48 is a medium and 50 is a large. Give me a break.
Seattle Mariners' home and alternate uniforms.
The script that Mariners fans want to see again.
I said elsewhere that the Warriors are going to wear jerseys with sleeves. Okay, I'm not sure about that, no other team's doing it. Another thing no other team is doing in baseball is outfitting their team in athletic wear. The Mariners can and should do just that. Bring their 1981-1986 uniforms out of retirement! The timing is perfect to do just that! After the Felix press conference, it would be great to hear and see that the Mariners are setting trends and blazing trails by wearing their best uniforms in team history, which in turn would be the best in the game.

Let's say the Mariners announced tomorrow that they're changing their uniforms and without saying so, the new uniforms would be the uniforms they wore from 1981-1986. The average Mariner fan wouldn't know they're from the '80s, they would see them as new, unique and different and much better suited in the HD era. Let's not kid ourselves, these uniforms haven't been worn apart from a game in 2011, for 27 years., so not many people would identify them with the Argyros era. Compared with the Mariners current uniforms which are dull, generic, dark, tired and convey a false aura of being "traditional" with the awful piping down the front of the jersey and side of the pants, they would be seen as fresh and new. Quite frankly, apart from signing Felix to a new contract, bringing back their 1981-1986 uniforms is the best move the Mariners can make. It really needs to happen.

It's time for the Mariners to stand out.
