Things remain very interesting in the AL. Jamestown goes 8-2 t leapfrog Detroit and Asylum into 1st place. Detroit stays in second after a 6-4 sim, and Jighthouse Point moves within striking distance after a 7-3 run.

Kalamazoo rides a 7-3 sim as Seattle stumbled with aa 3-7 sim as the Kumquats regain control of the NL

If anyone's interested, the Sharks are still looking to trade. As you may have noticed if you looked closely at my deal with the Pioneers, I'm willing to give up more value than I get back as long as I'm getting enough future value. There's no way I'm going to be competing in the next few years, so I value those seasons less.

Despite how bad my team is, I still have some good pieces I can move. And I still have tons of salary space, so you can dump just about anyone you want on me. I'm even willing to take long-term contracts that are overpriced.

I have players like Highball Wilson if you want someone just for a playoff push this season, or guys like Freddy Parent or Fielder Jones if you want production this year and in the future. I have useful players at almost every position, and I drafted a lot of players who grant me positional flexibility, so you could dump a 2Bman on me for my SS (for example).

Claude Ritchey of the Detroit Tigers hit for the cycle against the Richmond Rams. Ritchey had 4 hits in 6 at bats, scoring 2 runs and knocking 4 in a 16-8 Tigers victory.

Gotta feel for the Spiders. They're 16 back in the NL and planning for next season. If they were in the AL they would be sitting just four games back and in the race.

HaHa - I've got em right where I want them.

Looks like the Rams are going to be down to 2 pitchers here soon, so maybe someone looking to make a trade could shoot Dan a line

K - I cleared some space in my inbox. That's what I get for completing two trades and then trying to work two more trades right after...

Wow - this is exciting. I've never seen so many trade proposals. It just happens to come when a good friend is visiting town, but hey, who needs sleep, amirite?

The Pioneers and the Tigers have agreed to change the terms of this deal. Instead of Duggleby, the Pioneers will receive Tom Daly and the Tigers 2nd round pick in 1905. The Tigers will still receive Harry Bay from the Pioneers.

    Jason to confirm.

Rich, I will send you a new MP including this trade.

Please insert Togie Pittinger as the Kumquat #1 mop-up pitcher and #2 long relief pitcher. Also remove Gene Wright from those two listings, as he is now a Shark. Thanks.

I would like to post a correction to my earlier trade with the Tigers. I was confused on the contract length of Duggleby. The corrected trade would be:

    Tigers get:
    Harry Bay

    Pioneers get:
    1905 2nd round pick
    Tom Daly

    Tigers to confirm.

I will be running the next sim tomorrow night. That sim will take us past the Sept 1 trade deadline, so anyone looking to make a deal needs to get it done before tomorrow night

If anyone's interested in trying to work out a last minute trade, I'll be on pretty much all day after I wake up tomorrow. Plus, we can always start working out deals for the offseason. I still have a lot of good players available at a wide variety of salaries and skill levels, and they can cover a lot of positional needs. I still have plenty of roster space if you want to salary dump.

Fielder Jones - 10M, 03-08, OF. Worth almost 20 WAR between 04 and 08, plus the value he provides if you have any playoff hopes this year.

Freddy Parent - 8M, 03-06, SS. Worth 8.8 war between 04 and 08. Plus 6.1 WAR this season.

Ed Abbaticchio - 8M, 03-07, 2B SS. BBRef says he's only worth about 5 WAR over those seasons, but Fangraphs puts him at almost double that.

Jimmy Slagle - 4M, 03-04, OF. 1 WAR next season, 3.3 this year if you have playoff hopes.

Harry Bemis - 2M, 03-08, C. 5.7 WAR, plus value if you have playoff hopes.

    Highball Wilson - 7M, 03, P. 2.4 WAR this season.

    Bill Duggleby - 3M, 03-05, P. 3.2 WAR in 05, plus IP before then.

    Chick Fraser - 2M, 03-05, P. 3 WAR between 04 and 05.

I have worked out another trade:

The Express get Emmet Heidrick, Harry Aubry, and Chief Zimmer. The Sharks get the Express #3 pick in 1908, Monte Cross, George Van Haltren, and Art Weaver (all of whom of course become available for trade).

    Catcher24 will confirm
