Indeed. Tonight is going to be fun!

Whether the Cubs win or lose, I hope there's a ton of police presence in Wrigleyville today. No one wants to see a repeat of what happened in Vancouver in 2011.

I'm emotionally exhausted. I feel catatonic right now. This has been a long season followed by a long postseason and finished off with a long World Series game. Finally, after watching this team for 30 years I can say something finally went our way.

I never thought I would see this happen but when you get a rain delay from above , it was just meant to be . Congrats to the Cubs , and the Indians played an incredible game too .

108 years - many generations have come and gone . A toast to those who rooted for their Cubbies and are no longer here .

Coming from a life long Cub Buster , I still have to feel good for their die hard fans who have waited so long for this moment . There are many real fans who grew up watching Jack Brickhouse on WGN TV and later Harry Carey, and they dreamed of this day.

I am not talking about the so called celebrities who love to get on TV, and not the annoying "Chad and Trixie " types who can't tell the difference between Billy Williams and Billy Dee Williams.

I won't be too shocked if the Cubs have a run like the Giants had . The Cubs are young, have quality players at most of their starting positions, and have the money to add whatever they need.

Theo should be elected to Cooperstown this year; ending the Red Sox AND the Cubs droughts? That just can't be topped.

The Cardinals and Mike Matheny just agreed to a three-year extension. Things just keep getting better for Cubs fans. The central is ours for the taking for the foreseeable future.

The Cards could be managed by a HOFer and they wouldn't have the talent to beat the Cubs for the division because of the talent gap. I'd estimate a 7-10 win difference in true talent between the two teams. Thankfully, the Cards just have to make a few tweaks to get into the postseason in which anyone can win. I mean the Cards had enough talent to make the playoffs 4x with Matheny while averaging 94 wins from 12-15. So despite my overall dislike for Matheny, they can win lots of games with him with enough talent. Its almost all about talent. I still don't know why they want to extend him. But yeah, the Cubs are in good shape to win the division for awhile.

How special was that? Well. I've seen a lot of post-championship covers by Sports Illustrated in my day...

But I've NEVER seen a title take back-to-back covers...
