Statcast now gives out a matrix on how difficult plays were (percentage they are made). It basically shows that most balls to the of are either clear hits (liners, home runs) or easy plays that any mlb of could make and the difference between good and bad of is a rather small number of either way plays (like 20 per season or so).

Basically that means 2 to 3 more plays made or not made can make a big difference in the stats
