I've been trying to guess how many games the Braves might win over the next two months, and while I don't expect April of last year... I'll have to figure it out.

The Braves have acquired right-hander Enrique Burgos from the Diamondbacks in exchange for cash considerations. Burgos, 26, was designated for assignment by Arizona earlier this week.

You mean that in a good way or a bad way? I get the impression he's probably more capable than James Loney, but is he going to have to end up sharing time with Peterson or something?

He is a career 110 wRC+ 1B...which is well below average for a 1B. And even worse - he hardly ever faces left-handed batters. With normal handedness platooning, he just isn't a good hitter at all.

He is a surprisingly decent 1B for a fat guy.

Better than Loney? Aabout the same level of eh.

Okay so he'll end up in a platoon with Peterson.

Naturally, an article says he'll be an in "everyday" role, but they'll find out fast it isn't going to work.
