Since I was stupid and didn't realize Macker had already answered before I posted....
I will defer to him ..... but only for a few days.......
It's all yours.
no.... not Dave Duncan.... but a nice guess
nope... not Mike Epstein.
Although like Mike, this Oakland A did play first base.
You are correct. Helpher, a very competent pro, didn't last long. Monte Moore was the only long term Finley employee, as I recall.
Charles O. Finley,[along with the rest of the good and bad] was the builder of the last really true dynasty, his way in every way. Gotta admire that. Charley for the Hall? Maybe I'll start a thread.
who's the former A's Vice President during Finleys ownership on the left and a good choice to speak at Finleys HOF induction ? .. actually it looks like he's giving the "we're # 1" with his finger in that pic....

The Hammer, of course, a man who gives big bucks to baseball programs for kids, in northern California.
Aside, I'll be out there tomorrow to see get some sun, and hoist one in the memory of Alameda's Bill Rigney, a great baseball front office exec. with the A's after the Giants messed him over, yet again, as they did with Hank Sauer.
