I never really noticed how much the original layout looked like Yankee Stadium and the original design of U.S. Cellular.

Yeah a city that large needs it!
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.

I agree about the outfield seating, at least the right field stands. Those old football seats need to go. They also need to bring the Big A back, retrofit it and have it be updated with a large hi-def board like the scoreboard at Kaufmann Stadium.

Here is a neat looking photo I found online of construction during the expansion for the Rams. I haven't been able to find good photos of construction (or really destruction) during the renovation in the late 90's.

Interesting theing about Anaheim/Angels stadium, is that I NEVER saw the deconstruction of the football seats.

It seems that it was in its football configuration one season, and then as it is now the next.

I distinctly remember the 1980 construction that enclosed it, though.

Did the Rams use the Angels' clubhouse? If they had their own, any idea what it is used for now?

I grew up going to Anaheim stadium... first game was in 1968.... damn 40 years ago! The Rams had their own locker room under the left field stands. Thats where the visitors locker room was too....

Hey look, a piece of Citi Field is in the background.

Oh wait, that's just a Domino's Pizza. Silly me.

    Sure do.

I like the idea of the rocks, but c'mon. That looks like a bad parody of a Disney park.

That giant Happy Meal behind the rocks makes the giant milk carton at the Metrodome look classy.

The traffic in Anaheim is actually better than in most stadiums. I've gone to dozens of games there and rarely had a problem getting to the stadium or finding parking.

I agree....Angel Stadium for some reason has better flow than Dodger Stadium. Plus, if you know the parking lot well, you may find the "secret" ways out....

I started driving to Angel games in the early 70s..yeah im OLD~! Orangewood is by far the best in and out still to this day.. Katella and State College are a zoo on game days, especially if the Ducks are playing at the same time.

Correct. Perhaps us taxpayers should be bilked out of millions to build a new stadium....NOT.

Well something's got to give in 8 years when their lease is up.

They'll renovate Angel Stadium. There's no need to spend resources on a new ballpark when they're doing so well in the current ballpark.

    Anaheim Stadium

Angels' owner Gene Autry at groundbreaking.

I wish Orange County was still as wide open as it was in the 60s.
