Well, they didn't wear sansabelt pants last season when they wore the throwbacks and I said that if I could only have one choice, I go with pullover jerseys 100% of the time despite the recent cancer causing warning on the Nationals' baseball belts.
Apparently the throwbacks had enough of a positive reception that they're going to be worn again.
I don't get it. The White Sox themselves called it "winning ugly". Even Adidas, which has contracts with many college teams makes "throwback" uniforms that are either the Astros' "tequila sunrise" facsimilies or the White Sox 1982-86 unis in whatever color scheme the school uses. So, at this point, it really isn't unique, but it's a done deal and I guess this qualifies as a "victory", if you will, for the pro-pullover jersey cause.

You don't think winning the division has anything to do with that?

According to Paul Lukas, neither Richard Launier or the White Sox receive any compensation for all the college teams wearing 1982-86 White Sox knock offs.

I just love the pic of Allen smoking and juggling in the dugout. Nothing like a healthy training regimen to help snag you the M.V.P.

Obviously, the "Winning Ugly" 1983 uniforms were the most influential.

Dick Allen was built like a Greek god and always LOOKED fit, but he also smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish.
He also had his last good full year when he was 32 and retired after his age 35 season...hmmm.

I also really like the '72 uniform, but I voted for '59 because it had buttons instead of a zipper on the jersey.

I'm not a big uniform guy, but I've got a soft spot in my heart for the 1983 uniforms. I also like the current ones.

But, honestly, I only see it during the '82 season. The Sox had other BP jerseys beyond '82, but I never paid attention to White Sox aesthetics before.
