    Sports Writer fired

An item in today's paper reports that a sportswriter to the Tampa Tribune was fired for "manipulating the balloting" for a high school sports award. Rozel A. Lee was among 19 journalists and coaches who ranked eight top local HS candidates.

Rozel admits that she intentionally gave her lowest ranking to a leading candidate, to make it more likely that the player she favored would win the award.

Isn't it a comfort to know that such shananigans could never happen in MLB awards voting?

I read that article too, and thought the same thing. It's funny how the newsreporters have become the newsmakers both literally and figureatively.
Lets Go Yankees, Valley Cats, Dutchmen, UT Spartans and ECU Pirates.
