    USA v Korea Republic (R)

Not looking too good. Only 2 outs left . . . to score 6 or more runs. Gasp.

1 down in the 9th and USA is down by 6; 2 runners on, and the Korea Republic pitching coach comes to visit the mound. Up a "grand slam-and-a-half and he visits the mound? Yes, this game is that monumental to Korea.
The USA team is playing w/o pride at this point. This is unfortunately the same feeling I had when I watched out basketball team play in Athens - all show and no go. And, I GOTTA tip my cap to the Koreans. They're a very solid team.

Underachieving States of America loses as Teixeira grounds out 4-3. Wow. We lost again. Too bad our best players aren't even playing.
BIG congrats to Korea. Great game with NO errors.
Chase Utley is mediocre at best.

Willis blew it. The bats were not working in the clutch like they were yesterday. I doubt there's going to be a Varitek-esque grand slam coming to bring the team closer and inflicting more damage on the Koreans.

Look on the bright side- Team USA holds the tie breaker with Japan should Korea beat Japan tomorrow and the USA beat Mexico.

well the pitchers that came out for Korea at the end were young pitchers, i think the coach was trying to let them pitch against major league players so they can save better arms for next round/Japan and give them experience for possibly next national games. I have to say Korea looks pretty damn good right now.

Dontrelle is obviously just not ready to pitch his best at this point. I doubt we see him again in the tournament if we advance.

I really couldn't believe Derrick Lee didn't play in the game? Texiera is good but Lee has been the 2nd best hitter after Griffey. Again makes you think that Buck Martinez has his hands tied somewhat as to not expose players to injury. Sad that they would play it that way.

I think the most painful thing about that game was the sloppy US fielding. Main, the Korean SS started a 6-4-3 DP from the seat of his pants. Just made Jeter look pathetic when he tossed his relay into the dirt (granted, it should have been fielded).

What bothers me most is the number of runners the US left on base when they had multiple chances to cut down the lead and possibly take it early in the game. They didn't capitalize on any of them. Simply sickening.
