Howard and Fielder were both w/Marucci. But I will say that last night was sooooo boring.

See ball, hit ball.
Nelson Cruz is a beast!
Anyone know where I can get a 35inch 243 in ash??
See ball, hit ball.
Cruz--Louisville M9
Fielder--Sam Bat
Inge--Marucci
Gonzalez--Trinity
Mauer--Rawlings
Howard--Marucci
Pena--Marucci
Pujols--Marucci
Howard switches back and forth between Marucci and SAM during the season. Last year he started the season swinging SAM and switched to Marucci and back to SAM during the summer...and then switched to Marucci during September and October.
This season, he started with Marucci, switched to SAM about 3 weeks ago and then apparently just switched back to Marucci. It seems when he goes cold with one bat, he picks up the other.
Pujols used to swing SAM. I remember visiting the SAM "factory" in Ottawa about 4 years ago with my son . They showed us an order of bats just completed for Pujols.
this will probably sound like an infomercial or spam but seriously though, i am stoked to report on it:
i got a chance to meet with andre today from ny stixs. i went over to his workshop to go over some specs for a customized bat i want him to make. he answered all my questions and even turned a bat while i was there to show me the process. i was thoroughly impressed with his operation.
when i get my bat, i'll post pics and report on the performance and durability. i am really hoping that it matches the service because andre and ny stixs is a class act. i cannot stress it enough, support the companies that go out of their way for their customers and provide the best product!
I got to help make a whole order of bats for Carlos Beltran when I was "working" with Marucci. I'm pretty sure that Howard is back and forth with Sam Bat and Marucci, and it's been like that for 3 or 4 years.
I have a bat right here in front of me (Marucci) that was made for Howard, but was a little light or heavy. Neat souvenir.
Marucci, when they take the time and have attention to detail, make some of the best if not the best quality bats for the retail customer. same can be said for carolina clubs. i bought models VB6,CB15,Th17,AA1, and the old school fatty bat they used to sell.
3 of the 5 were and are fantastic and have the widest maple grains i have ever seen whether retail or pro. the other two were ash and especially the fatty model was completely junk ash wood. i ordered 33oz but it came in at 30.5oz! i was pretty displeased but didn't really enjoy the old school feel so let it ride. i have found myself wary of retail ordering and instead have plumbed the auctions sites looking for pro quality and specific model types.
this of course has its risks as left field collectibles and various private sellers have sold me cracked bats advertised as UNCRK. not sure how the rest of you feel, but it is difficult for me to go back to a company/seller that has burned me. even my beloved CClubs scalded me once and it was like losing a naughty girlfriend. i have never tried sambat or probats or nystixs or talbot turnings in maryland, but might do so. one post said he had too many bats, but for me there is never such a feeling.
You should try calling Marucci and telling them that you are a pro on an independent league team. A couple of my teammates called up Marucci and said they played for the Camden Riversharks. Marucci did not check and sold them bats for the minor league price and they were great wood. I think they got two bats for around a hundred bucks which is great considering their retail price is more than that for one.
I haven't tried it yet but I am planning on it soon.
in these tough times when many are being treated wrongly by their employers and money is tight and wall street and uncle sam are examples of avarice, it is not admirable to advise folks to be dishonest and finagle their way into a better price.
on a previous comment, LS also produces some of the best if not best retail bats, i got a T141 33/895g M9 and a pro maple M159 880g both with very nice straight grains but i cannot buy a retail bat over 34"/31oz. i prefer heavier bats 920g-940g and have a H176 34/930g Biggio game used model that really has been fun to hit with.
BMH, anyway can i get a Pedroia S318 at 935g? i see u guys are starting to offer his bat, but the picture on your web page shows a F163 fielder !!![]()

Wow...never noticed that, then again I never visit our website. The only one that is correct is the Derek Jeter model. The others our last years models we offered. I'll talk to IT to see if we can get that fixed. the Evan Longoria we're offering this year is pretty awesome.
I'm sure with production variance you can find a couple of his bats in the 33oz range![]()
Hey Spinners,
Do you guys have any suggestions on where to get decals made up for centerbrands? I'm looking for a place with low minimums and good quality if possible.
Well, I don't think I ever "officially" worked for them since I never got the first check. Maybe I misunderstood something?
I sold nearly $20,000 worth of bats for them that one season. It was a fun experience.
I sort of volunteered, they offered me some pay, and I had fun with it. I didn't do it for money, I just loved being involved in baseball. I believed in their product and spit a nice game (think I found a nice marketing niche that worked). Really enjoyed doing it, but there comes a time when you have to start respecting yourself if you know what I mean.
What can I say, I love baseball and I was a sucker.
You probably got some of their excess stock bats, which are still great cuts. They send billets back all the time, which is probably pretty norm for a quality bat company.
I wouldn't feel like you are ripping off Marucci - they offered the same Minor League pricing to members of the MSBL, which is an adult amatuer league with over 300 leagues and 50,000 plus members across the country.
I would sell bats to guys in our league for the ML prices.
Hello Everyone,
I am about to try turning my own bat. I have the general idea but my question is the size. The how big I'm going to make it is not in question. My question is more balance related. I apologize in advance if this is amature. When turning a bat would I look at the finished product almost as if a see saw? For example if I want it more balanced I make the handle thicker and the head thinner? I am just trying to understand the size/ weight relationship before I attempt to undertake this project. Thank you everyone for your patience.
I bought a Marucci and as far as the bat goes, it definitely is the best wood I have swung since I began playing with wood 4 yrs ago. The costumer service, was something totally different. My first order got lost after a month had past from ordering it. Then they said I would get it in 3 days and it took 2 weeks. Regardless, of that I was going to get another, but they changed their website and I didn't see the same bat I previously ordered. I emailedthem and after waiting 2 weeks without a reply, I emailed again, with no reply. I then got a different email address to try from a good friend and mutual Marucci Bat buyer, who happens to purchase a lot more bats than I do. I emailed them using this address and in the email I mentioned my whole situation up and including my conversation with my good friend. First, I got a response from a guy who said he was the new costumer rep. and a brief explanation that I was a victim of them cleaning house and a website change. He also lectured me about using names for my benefit. OK, fine, so I replied to him with what I was looking for and mentioned the league I play in and mentioned I had a few teammates who tried out my bat and was very interested. The next reply I got was from a Joe Lawrence. Long story short, he accused me of slander and threatened Lawyer action unless I helped him with damage control by talking to my friend. I informed him that his costumers are allowed to share their experiences with other people, no matter who they are. Moral of this story is never step on the little guy, because you never know who that little guy knows.
Last night I emailed Max with inquiries and I got a response back with in an hour and they got an order for 6 bats this morning.
Yeah, none of that really surprises me.
Joe Lawrence and Kurt Ainsworth are the owners of the company, along with Jack Marucci (who seems like a GREAT guy, though I never have met him - only spoke on the phone with him). Kurt's brother is an attorney and both Joe & Kurt are former 1st Round Picks with a little MLB experience.
In the past when I was involved, it was a very small operation. If I were you, next time you call Marucci ask to speak with Kyle. He is a machine and a student at LSU who works his butt off. Personally, I think he has the best business manner as the other two are far too busy doing other things. Not knocking anyone, Kyle just gets things done and will treat you right. He calls to check up on me from time to time and see if I need anything. GREAT guy.
But yeah, with wood supply and multiple facility moves, things have been kinda in disarray too. They have a big MLB client list to keep happy too. Not to mention the owners and employees are(were) pretty busy with the Big Leagues of Baton Rouge, an indoor baseball facility.
I know it is little hectic for all bat companies from time to time, but you can't beat great customer service and putting the customers first.
Wow. If I had received customer service like that I would have taken my business elsewhere. There are other companies that offer great customer service, and a product that is just as good at a lower price.
See ball, hit ball.
Are you talking about the first 1 month wait and then finding out my order was lost? Well, the only reason I found out my order was lost was because I emailed them to cancel my order. They replied with a email on a Thursday and said my bat wouldl be at my door step by Monday. What I didn't know was, they meant a week from Monday.![]()
yep, i feel ya and i am not in a hurry to order Marucci bats again, but when they want to they make a damn great stick! i am just happy i got 3 models that are tops.
i am wondering what everyone thinks about sam bat(retail)? i am pining to swing their wood but the price is a deterrent and so is their shipping fee. they quoted me around $124 to japan and part of it was a fuel surcharge! what the heck!? i know for a fact usps can ship bats for around $30 from any part of the states, and quebec can't be that much different. how is their quality these days?![]()
