OK, brothers.
Randy and I have finally gotten the Historical, Archival Photos constructed. It took a MASSIVE effort by us, but we hope it was worth it to you. I stickied both the archive/poll for the moment.
I wanted to let it be prominently featured, so as to attrack online traffic for us. Randy and I would like very much to hear your feedback. About what % of the shots had you not seen in the books before now. What were your favorite shots, so I can look for more of that kind.
I will periodically add the the collection, as I find other shots which meet my standards.
Also, which players do you consider it a crime to omit. I know I omitted a large number of worthy players. I freely admit that. But many players are hard to find good action shots. Especially the Pre-1900 players. Virtually impossible to find good shots of Ewing, McAleer, Lange, Bergen, Gore, Ryan, Rusie, etc. And believe it or not, it was hard to find good Hornsbys too. Don't know why. And by that, I refer to GOOD Hornsbys.
That is why many shots are of horrible quality resolution. I'd rather have a terrible shot of a player in action, than a pristine one of him just standing there.
So, Randy and I would really love to hear your feedback, constructive criticisms, etc. Thanks, guys.
I think we have a world-class gallery. And from the looks of how many have viewed it already, over 20,000, the rest of the online baseball community concurs.
