Out of Sync
This White Sox team has been so out of sync the last couple of weeks now.
It seems like this team isn't doing the things that made them winners last season. The pitching has gone south, especially the bullpen, with the possible exception of Cotts and Jenks. The starters haven't been so dominant.
Our offense lately has been clicking in spurts. It's like we're waiting for the 3-run homer like we did in '03 and '04.
Right now,the ball isn't bouncing our way.The bleeding needs to stop soon otherwise this could be a total nightmare season.

Yes, they've been a little out of sync. Actually a lot of of sync. The scary thing is, they still have one of the best records in all of MLB.
I think last years team spoiled us. This city has never seen a baseball team of this dominance before, and it may never again. Even though moves were made off season to improve this team, I don't think its fair to compare this year to last. Last years was a dream team. One of only 4 teams in the history of MLB to go wire to wire in first place and then win a world series.
If and when this team gets it together on all aspects of the game, they'll be unstoppable. Buehrle hasn't been sharp lately. Freddy hasn't been too bad, but he aways pitches better during day games. Hopefully they can work the schedule to where most of his starts can come on day games. I don't know why it works for him but it just does. He was among the top 3 pitchers when comparing daytime stats. Pedro Martinez was the other one and I can't remember the 3rd. Garland has been getting better his past two outings but still a far ways off from his 18 game winning form from last year. Jon has the talent, he just needs to make it work. I don't know what the deal is with Polite. Last year he was the go to guy, both him and Cotts were good as gold at getting out of a tough inning. Maybe a lot of these guys had career years in '05 giving the best performance they ever will. Nothing else may ever compare to that. Jeff Nelson may have his better years behind him now. I'm not sure how much he'll be able to contribute.
Brian Anderson still need ssome help. I don't know if sending him down would help. He's hit very well at ever level he's played at except the big leagues. I don't mind using Macko there for now. His bat has really been coming alive. I thought I saw a rumor somewhere about a possible trade for Torii Hunter from the Twins. I don't know who we would give up, or who do they need? Gload and Anderson?
There still a lot of baseball left in the season. Something like a hundred games or so. If the Sox are still playing this was towards the end of July/start of August, then we can start to worry a little bit.
If all goes as planned, we limp in the last week in September and start getting hot, carry that streak into the playoffs, sign El Duque to shut down Boston, bring back Marte, Vizcaino and Shingo and dominate everyone else in sight, again. This time going 11-0. Sure sounds about right huh?
