In case you are confused, here's an example of how it can happen. Say at the end of this year, the Yankees fire Joe Torre and move to Omaha. Say 5 years from now they rehire Torre to manage the Omaha Yankees. He then would have managed the Yankees twice, in non-consecutive stints, in different cities.
Hint: all three men who did this played in NYC when there were three teams here. Two of the men played for the Giants.

Bill Rigney Managed the Giants twice, beginning in NY and moving with the team. Then he returned in 76 for one year.
The other 2 were part of Charlie Finley's musical Managers. Hank Bauer and Alvin Dark had stints with the A's in both KC and Oakland. Dark won the 74 WS in Oalkland.
Rigney and Dark played for the NY Giants. Bauer had a decent career for the Yankees.
