    Also Needed... Run Probabilities

    Hi,

Thank you in advance for helping me with this and/or my previous request in the post a few minutes ago...

I'm looking for the probability of scoring 0,1,2,3,4,etc. runs in an inning depending on the situation. I'm looking for a fairly large table that will have the probability for each situation.

The different situations are 0 out, nobody on base; 0 out, runner on 1st; 0 out, runner on 2nd; etc. (there are 24 situations).

For each situation, I need the probabilities of scoring a specific number of runs....

    For example,
Situation: nobody on base and 1 out,
    Probabilities
    0 runs: .61342
    1 run: .213
    2 runs: .087

    and so forth...

    Thank you very much,
    Jared

    The score column is "after".

Most of the years on this site was generated from the Retrosheet event files.

I am trying to find a database that contains 1st/2nd half splits so I can see if there is a correlation between Home Run Derby contestants and their perceived drop-off in power, I would like to run the numbers of all of the HRD contestants against the general numbers of all of the All-Stars (the theory being that not only Home Run Derby contestants, but all All-Stars fall off in the second half because they have nowhere to go but down)

I know they can be obtained from virtually any website on player pages, but I don't want to have to go to every player page of every All-Star to gather all of the data, any help would be appreciated

Retrosheet has the PBP data you are looking for. You'll have to set it up so that your results are broken down into before and after ASB.

    save opportunity situations

Where can I find how many times a pitcher entered a game in a save situation for this year or career with a one run lead. Two run lead ? Three run lead ?

  7. #32
This shows the game situations that a pitcher entered, game by game:
    http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi...&year=2007&t=p

You can figure out what you want from that (pitcher by pitcher, year by year). Look for the Result column of B, H, S to figure out if it's a save opportunity (blown, hold, save).

This shows all of a pitcher's save situations, but not the score.

Where can I find these statistics?

I'm interested in seeing what the New York Mets pitchers and hitters stats are against each of the other NL teams, but haven't been able to find it on the Web. Anyone know if that data is available and, if it is, where.

ESPN has this data in their free section.

For example, look at this link and play around with the options:

    Mike,

That's what I'm looking for. I was in espn.com before I posted this but couldn't find it. How did you get to the Team Stats page?

From their main stats page, I clicked on the Team Batting link under the National League column.

I know that on espn.com I can find quality starts and the percentage of quality starts for a pitcher, but is there any site on which I can find the number of games in which a pitcher had a quality start that the team won?

No luck finding SH and SF stats

I looked through all the listed sites, most of which I had already consulted, but couldn't find what I was looking for -- team and league totals for sacrifice hits and sacrifice flies, preferably listed just as the other stats are for teams in any given year the way Total Baseball has it. Prospectus gives you the requested team but no blocks of teams, or league totals, which is mostly what I'm digging for. I will note, as a reminder of how the game has changed, that the 1927 Yankees had 204 sacrifice hits, and the 2006 Blue Jays had 16!! Any other ideas, free on the Internet or otherwise?

In the olden days, they used to lump in SF and SH together.

Lifetime BA with 2 out and MISP...

I hope you don't mind humoring a newbie... but where can I find the statistics for lifetime batting average with 2 out and men in scoring position? Specifically, Derek Jeter's number. I heard a number during a recent broadcast and somehow doubt it being correct.

    Thanks - BierGut

    Home Runs Allowed

Where can I find home runs allowed leaderboards? By that, I don't mean who's given up the most (that's very easy to find on baseball-reference) but who gives up the fewest/ 9IP.

The Indians announcer today said Rogers is having a good season as he's only given up 7 this year (through 46 innings). That didn't sound very good and I noticed Verlander had given up 14 through 186 IP. Is that any good?

So there is no database/file that I can get GB, LD, FB? Kind of like the lahman database with that in it? I don't know how to use the retrosheet files so I figured I'd ask.

I'm assuming the answer is no. Would it be possible for someone to upload a file to radpishare if someone has set this file up?

    Thanks either way!
