Since GIDP have been recorded, Craig Biggio is the only player to play a complete season and not ground into a single double play.

The following players have played at least 125 games in a season and didn't ground into any double plays (since 1939).

    162 games - Craig Biggio, 1997
    151 games - Dick McAuliffe, 1968
    136 games - Rob Mackowiak, 2002
    135 games - Corey Patterson, 2006
    134 games - Rob Deer, 1990
    133 games - Roger Repoz, 1968
    128 games - Dave Collins, 1984
    125 games - Pete Reiser, 1942

There is most certainly a moral to this story reflecting on the career of Johnnie Lemaster, but as a gentleman, I won't touch it.

Rob Deer?? Rob freaking DEER?? Dude grounded into ZERO double plays in 1990? He was about as good a runner as Ron Herbel was a hitter! I can only think that he was too busy hitting homers, flying out or striking out (most likely) than hitting ground balls. All things considered, it's still pretty amazing for someone who ran like a crippled double-leg amputee.
