Alex Liddi is hitting over .300 after 97 at bats with some power in Double-A. He still strikes out a bit much, but he is still 21 years old. If this continues, maybe he'll get a September call up.

Dutchmen Bjorn Hato and Kevin Weijgerste have made their US debuts with the DSL Mets. Hato is 2 for 4, Weijgerste 0 for 14 with four walks. Spain's Deion Galvan has debuted for the DSL Braves in a minute role.
Alex Liddi has the closest chance to become an all-star. Seattle needs an offensive slugger and Alex Liddi has the talent of becoming a future star, he may get a september call-up if his success continues. Also don't forget Max Kepler-Rozycki, he'll take time but his talent would surprise us. I'm pretty much sure that he'll become a big leaguer.
A Baseball America writer wrote last week that Liddi's bat should take hime to the major leagues. He just has to work on his defense and recognize breaking balls better.
Germany's Max Kepler-Rozycki (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bu...Kepler-Rozycki) went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI in his pro debut with the GCL Twins.
The Netherlands' Daan Cornelissen (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bu...an_Cornelissen) was 0 for 3 with a walk in his debut with the GCL Pirates.
Italy's Andrea Pizziconi (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bu...drea_Pizziconi) allowed one run in two innings in his debut with the Yakima Bears.
Dovydas Neverauskas (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bu...as_Neverauskas) became the first Lithuanian to play in the minors, allowing two runs in 2 1/3 IP for the GCL Pirates.
For those who missed it, Liddi made the roster for the All-Star Futures World Team. We'll get to see him, then, next month.
Oh, and I've heard it said from a Twins scout that team officials think the upside on Kepler is higher than anyone else in the organization. He's the real deal.

Good quick recap.
German Catcher Kai Gronauer just got promoted to Advanced A Port St. Lucie Mets and started his first Game with Teammaete Carlos Beltran in CF
after being SAL All Star with Savannah Sand Gnats
The only thing you know is you never know and that you know for sure!
The Pittsburgh Pirates signed 16-year-old Alex Lukashevich, the first player ever from Belarus to sign with a MLB team.
So who here thinks Halman or Liddi will be getting a callup to Seattle in the coming months since they have zero chance at doing anything this season?
Also, Gronauer is looking great in the Mets system. Ever since I started following Europeans with this thread, this might be the best year I've witnessed from these prospects.
Halman has some of the strangest stats I've ever seen. The power is undeniable though.
I think there's been steady progress in European players in the minors over the past 20 years. I don't think Liddi would be coming up before September - he hasn't been that stellar in AA (not like last year in A ball) and hasn't been to AAA. I'd be surprised if Halman isn't called up soon. I doubt we'll see Gronauer in The Show until late next year at the soonest.
I don't know know. They both strike out a lot though. I guess it wouldn't hurt.
The Padres signed Dutch infielder Rodney Daal (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Rodney_Daal) to a 7-year deal.
The Cubs signed Italian catcher Alberto Mineo, even though he was his country's worst performer (2 for 20, 3 passed balls) in the 2010 World Junior Championship. See http://www.mister-baseball.com/alber...-organization/
One thing I cant wait for is the september call ups, i strongly feel that there will be one or two european players playing in the bigs!!!
Kai Gronauer of Germany is hitting quite well in the FSL. Maybe he'll start next season at AA. Loek Van Mil was released.
Looks like Greg Halman of the Netherlands was called up by the Mariners.
Kai Gronauer named best defensive catcher in the Mets organization per Baseball America.
kai is a really nice person. I hope he makes it. He recently came to germany where he made a hitting clinic that I participated. he worked about 20 minutes personally on my swing.
here is kai swinging on soft toss

I think walks are overrated unless you can run. If you get a walk and put the pitcher in a stretch, that helps, but the guy who walks and can’t run, most of the time he’s clogging up the bases for somebody who can run. – Dusty Baker.
As one of the resident Canadians on this board, Canada has a deep enough pool of players to draw from. I would full confidence in our B team's ability to qualify for us without MLB players.

Little article on Loek van Mil; I missed when he got traded to the Angels. (He was in the Twins system first right?)
The Mariners signed 17-year-old Dutch right-hander Lars Huijer (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Lars_Huijer). He is the brother of Boston farmhand Swen Huijer.
