What part of Jersey if you don't mind my asking? I'm considering driving to games this year because I'm tired of rushing to catch the last NJ Transit train home, or waiting an additional hour at Penn Station for one. I'm trying to figure out what time I should plan on arriving and what time I need to leave.

It would allow those on the concourse to see the game... I guess the Mets realized it wasn't in the budget.

Not sure. Probably so the people on the concourse behind it can see the game. Considering the scoreboards size, theres no way you can see the action past that.

so are they gonna show the sny/cw broadcasts? or are they showing raw footage of the game?

also, i rmember being at citizens bank and they had the radio playing in one particular area..they should do that for the concourse..it would be cool to hear howie while we're over there so we can follow what's going on

I would think the SNY/CW broadcasts. Just like the TVs in the concourses at Shea.

That one was obviously intentional. They don't want the entire Willits Point neighborhood to be able to watch the game from outside of the stadium property, they only put a video board large enough for the fans at the CF concourse to be able to not miss any action.

True. It just feels odd looking at the picture and knowing that a screen could have been there. I have a feeling there will be a giant advertisement in its place.

My guess is it'll probably be similar to the back of the scoreboard at Shea. Which yes, at various points in history was a Giant ad, although not always. I guess it depends how many sponsors they have at a given time.

For the past few years the back of the scoreboard has always been a giant ad. I would not be surprise if they continued this at Citi.

Well.. Only if you consider it to be a giant as$... I just hope that the advertisements continue to have some sort of class..

When I called a week ago St Johns said it was technically a home game for George town so GT would be handling sales. But I think the Mets are going to end up doing the sale. I hope we get a presale code or I'm going to be extremely upset

The blue looks nice but remind me of CBP way to much.

I go to about 50 games a year from the woods of Sparta (northwest NJ) and get to the gate in about an hour, 15 minutes. 80 to the GWB, straight shot. Always take the Local lanes on 95 when nearing the bridge, no exceptions, unless major accident, etc. - Express takes much longer every time. From the GWB we've avoided the Cross Bronx for years and take the Harlem River Drive south to the Triboro - it's usually the lightest ramp off the bridge, and traffic's usually very light heading south that way, even at 5, 6pm. Usually take the Deegan back, but sometimes gets backed up onto the Cross Bronx. If Deegan north (and Harlem River) is really backed up, we take one of the bridges west near Yankee Stadium (or for Harlem River Drive just head west), cut through Harlem to Riverside Drive eventually to Henry Hudson and get to GWB much quicker. Also, if you need gas coming home (never buy NYC gas, $$$), take Route 4 off the bridge, gas about 1-2 miles up, and you can pick up 80/95 again couple miles up from there. Central NJ's a whole different deal, but from the north, these routes work well for us.

Alpine nailed it. I drive in from Ridgewood NJ - Route 17 to 4 to bridge - then 100% take Deegan to Triboro and across the Grand Central. On Saturday mornings, i can be parked in 35 minutes. Obviously parking should be easier this year with one less stadium in the way - though, I don't park in the lot anyway

Bayonne. I take the Holland Tunnel, quick (usually) trip down canal street, over the Manhattan bridge, up the BQE (which is the worst/slowest part of the trip. Things USUALY thin out once you get past the exit for the LIE), then up to either Northern Blvd or Roosevelt Ave. Roosevelt is a lot slower cause you're under the el the whole time but its easier access to the lot across the street.

Northern Blvd was nice before Citi got put in and you could pull right into the outfield lots.

Trip takes about an hour/hour and a half. I'm usually out the door by 3:30-4 for a 7pm start.

Thanks sounds great. I'd be leaving fairly close to 80 from around nearly the same area possibly depending how I work it with my friend. What time do you suggest to get to the stadium for decent parking? I have the Friday pack so basically all 7:10pm games. Obviously parking will get better once the lot is done but incase it's still not finished by the first few games.

The ticket rep that gave my tour mentioned that they will have the screen up there so that people can see the game.

When they put it up I guess is the question or maybe he was misinformed.

    Parking Lot

One thing from my tour that I forgot to mention is that the ticket rep said that he is hearing a June 1 date for the parking lot to be open. I said to him how can it take so long to put in a parking lot. His response was that the parking lot won't be open until it is 100% complete. Meaning that the electric for the lights, the drainage and yes he mentioned the brass bases, home plate and pitching rubber will all be in as well as the curbing etc.

Brass. I guess that would be a good matierial to use for the bases. I'm not a metal expert though, so don't hold me to that.
