I would like to see some DD breasts, or something to that extent.

Yonkers Raceway is still there! They finally got permission to put in the video slots, so they are back in a big way.

The YR site got kicked around as a possible site for NYS years ago, as an alternative to Jersey.

For years, Yonkers has been kicking around the idea of putting a minor league ballpark on Chicken Island (Yonkers natives know where I mean) behind Getty Square. Not sure where it is right now. Ratner (Bkln Nets guy) is building a huge outdoor mall on Ridge Hill, across from Stew Leonard's.

The Mall is on the Northbound or Southbound side of the Thruway? I was half kidding on the YR I pass it on occasion when I visit family on Long Island. Still, its a decent spot for a ballpark!! Good to speak to paisans from Yonkers..Even though you're a Met fan

Thanks for holding the spot. I was going to post this shot from the 86 reunion held at Shea in 2006 August 19th.

    Enjoy!

    First Four

Rain held up today .... though is was damp & misty out there. Posting eight shots, all with my old camera. Tomorrow (after I download all the new software), I'll post some photos I took with the new one. The panorama feature is awesome! Takes alot of time to do it, but it's usually worth the wait. Hopefully, they'll look as good on the computer screen as they look on the camera's screen! It's my new favorite feature!

Hey Dan ...... do you shoot some of your photos on top of that metal cart that's under the train steps? It's been parked there for a WHILE now & I only noticed today that there was a way to climb up there ... so I did. When I was up there, I got to wondering if this is one of your spots? If so, you SHOULD have fed your bird, man .... because he's DEAD!! (LOLOL).
If you were up there today, you'll understand the joke. If not, the next time you go up there you'll get it!

    Final Four + One

The fourth shot is of the wrought iron gates that they are beginning to install around Citi Field, with Mets "NY" logos on top. VERY cool! I reversed it so that the logos were facing the right way. The last shot is one of these gates in service already @ Citi Field.

FWIW, that team, including Mazzilli (though dressed in early 80s garb) and Gooden, was the most represented in the Shea Goodbye ceremony.

Here is the breakdown of the postseason squads

1969: Seaver, Koosman, McAndrew, Harrelson, Kranepool, Shamsky, Swoboba, Charles, Garrett, Berra

1973: Seaver, Koosman, Harrelson, Kranepool, Theodore, Staub, Mays, Swan (well, kind of, sort of, he debuted that season), Berra

1986: Harrelson (as a coach), Hernandez, Backman, Teufel, Dykstra, Carter, Strawberry, Mazzilli, Johnson, Gooden, Darling, Ojeda, Fernandez, Orosco

1988: Harrelson (as a coach), Hernandez, Backman, Teufel, Dykstra, Carter, Strawberry, Mazzilli, Johnson, Gooden, Darling, Ojeda, Fernandez

2000: Piazza, Zeile, Alfonzo, Ventura, Leiter, Franco
Same crew except for Zeile representing the 1999 squad

Metal cart? No idea what you're talking about.

They were there just for the panels. For reasons known only to the re-designers, they were never removed and stayed installed to the end of Shea's existence.

Directly under the staircase for the subway, Dan, is a (mobile) metal platform/scaffold on wheels that is (probably) used to paint under the "L"? There's a joystick on it, so my guess is that when it's turned on, it looks like you can raise & lower the bed of it. It's been parked there for the past month or so. Today was the first time I noticed you could climb into it, so I did & I used to to take photos from.

Actually, i think i read somewhere that they couldn't be removed without risking the collapse of the ramps, not sure as to the validity of that though.

it pisses me off that they are just disposing of those lights. A little league, high school or college could use those to great advantage

Great shots everyone, looking at the progress I dont think any of Shea will be around to see Opening Day.

It's going to be weird when it's totally gone... Richie, you have to get a Pan at the same locations after Shea is no more to compare with the great ones you took today

    Seth,

No worries. Our friend from Philly didn't get it and that's what's important
