I agree. They're fixing what few flaws the park had.

I think you're absolutely right, and I can't wait to see the place when it's completely finished. To paraphrase the guy in Blazing Saddles: "We don't need no stinking new stadium!"

Not true, Lupa Nella won the A.L. Rookie lf the Year award in '69.

Great point. Yet there are still clowns who brag about their team's scoreboard or scoreboards when their scoreboard is 75% advertisements. :

What? They're cutting out a portion of the upper deck to allow "views from the concourse"? That makes no sense.

I agree. They're basically eliminating huge chunks of prime seating, by cutting out huge holes in the upper deck.

I love the renovations - except for that part.

Friendly wide-open concourses generate more revenue than having people sit in their seats.

Pretty soon in the next generation of ballparks there won't be any seats at all, just concourses, suites and gift shops.

Oh, that's right. I forgot that watching the game was actually taking a back seat to the purpose of a stadium now.

Many new photos of the Kauffman stadium renovation posted here, at the Kansas City Star website:

Check out the obstructed views from the "fountain pavilion seats".

Dude... check out section 252 (out in RF field)... It's worse than the fountain pavilion seats.

Actually, I think they were about the same because I lettered in all sports, and I was a two-time state decathlon champion.

My sophomore year I placed 2nd, and my junior and senior year - I got smart and piled up enough points between myself and second place where I didn't have to run the mile.

I wonder if the 3d viewer isn't working right or something. I can't imagine the obstructions being that bad.

the 3d viewer is dead on.
I used it to see my seats for a nats game last year and it was spot on.

Wow talk about buyer beware. If I showed up at the park and had that view I would be livid.

Well, you can get a seat right behind home plate for less than $20, so it's not THAT cheap. There's no excuse for building NEW seating with obstructions like that. Why not just build some unobstructed seats in another area, or not at all? 30 years ago stadiums were proud to declare that "every seat in the house has an unobstructed view". Nowadays that claim doesn't matter, I guess.
