Glory Days: New York Baseball 1947-1957
This is the just-released companion guide to the Musuem of the City of New York's upcoming exhibit honoring the Giants, Dodgers & Yankees of the 40's and 50's.
It is a priceless, jaw-dropping collection of stories and artifacts from those golden days. If this book is any indication, the musuem's exhibit will be a spellbinding event (it begins June 27th). Edited by John Thorn, the exhibit's co-curator, it is a must for any collector, fan or memorabilia buff as well as anyone who just remembers those times with the fondest of hearts.
(Note to Moderators; I have also posted this message in the general forum/baseball arts, literature/media section & the Brooklyn Dodgers forum so it is not missed by anyone who might be interested. Forgive me if I take up too much space-condense if you must.)
A great book which delivers a fantastic look back at the "Golden Age" of baseball in New York. Wonderful photos (many of which I've never seen) and stories that bring the memories rushing back. Makes me want to make the trip to New York to see the complete exibition. Might just do that!
