I dont know if these 2 have been talked about or not, but Travis Hafner and Lance Berkman both have a chance to get 3000 hits. Berkman would be a HOFer but would Hafner? Hes just a DH and never been an all star!

Unless Hafner is @ 2600 as we type I would be surprised the way his career has downturned.
Berkman has fashioned a HOF career apart from his career hits total (which is still 1500 short of 3,000, at age 33). Hafner's an even bigger stretch of the imagination as a 3,000 candidate. Neither is likely to reach the plateau.
The only two I'd put money on at this point are Jeter and A-Rod. Unless Damon or Edgar Renteria or someone like that manages to do it, Lou Brock will have to remain as the worst hitter in the 3,000 club.

Lance Berkman won't need 3000 hits to make the HOF. He needs to just keep his pace and last until he is 40. His track is the same as Bobby Abreu. Both men walk too much to nail 3000 hits but their other stats make up for it on any HOF monitor you would like to use.
His chances are reeeeeeeally good if he keeps his batting average above .300 and as I write this BR has him at .299
His career track is that of Larry Walker. If he stays healthy (unlike Walker) perhaps his comps will include more HOFers. We could use more 300/400/500 guys in the HOF...
