GO BRAVES!!!!!!!

I liked McBride but his control problems were a problem I was hoping that his stint in Triple A worked those problems out but they clearly haven't.
I would also like to note the Jo Jo Reyes was promoted to Triple A and it looks like he might take the number one pitching prospect for the Braves away from Matt Harrison.
If it is Maroth which I doubt I will be pretty happy with that trade. I know his stats don't look to good but he is facing the AL Central also him in the fifth starter role would be a nice upgrade over Buddy.

Extend Prado!!!
We got Wil Ledezma for him.
Eh, inconsistency for inconsistency. Oh well. We'll see how Ledezma does.
Well, from my research Ledezma has started a few games in his career. After Carlyle's bad start tonight I hope he gets a chance to start.

Ledezma is better than McBride, so good trade in my book. Ya he could possibly be a 5th starter if need be.

Well the Tigers got a bad pitcher for another bad pitcher so it works out.
This isn't the first time the Braves and Tigers have made a trade the same week they play each other. It also happened in 2002 almost five years to the day they traded McBride. George Lombard went to the Tigers dugout while Kris Keller was traded to the Braves.
June 19, 2002: George Lombard traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Detroit Tigers for Kris Keller.
June 18-20, 2002- The Braves took 2 out of 3 from the Tigers.

If you figure the AL is tougher than the NL then this looks like the trade of two guys who are the same.
Buck O'Neil: The Monarch of Baseball
Both are pretty bad with control.
McBride 15 BB in 15 IP
Ledezma 26 BB in 35 IP

They say they like Ledezma's future more and a different look from the left side.

I've always been a fan of Wilfredo Ledezma...sad that all we could get for the guy was Macay "I Can't Pitch At Home" McBride. Interestingly, you can't classify Wil as a lefty specialist...lefties are actually hitting him better than righties (probably good, considering he'll be used as a long reliever...also probably why we traded him for another lefty since Tim Byrdak couldn't be our ONLY lefty effective against lefties with Bobby Seay being only mediocre). Ledezma primarily throws fastballs and sliders to righty batters, and he'll also throw the occassional changeup, both as a get-me-over and to confuse the hitters every now and then. He only has one weapon against lefties, though...a reverse cutter (for lack of a better word...not enough break to be a screwball or reverse slider) that rides in sharply on a left-handed batter's hands. Tons of movement to it. This is his out pitch vs. lefty batters, with his main pitch, his fastball, also being used with regularity (but being pretty wild). He also has trouble controlling the cutter, though his slider isn't all that wild (but is kind of a flat pitch).

could be..then again, could be a case of two players who simply need a change of scenery..and do well with their new clubs...
Could be a good series..Detroit just got done feasting on the Nationals, and
took two outta three from the Phillies....
the chop might stop...on the flip, the Tigers might make good trophies
for the Braves...
Well the Braves dropped tonight's game and Ledezma came in and struck out the side. I guess the bullpen's performance was the only bright spot tonight.

I've always liked Ledezma though so it's not an overnight obsession.
