    Postseason

This is not really a trivia question but in the playoffs has any starting pitcher recorded an ERA as high as Bret Saberhagen in the 1999 LDS. In two games (both starts) Saberhagen compiled an ERA of 27.00. He also had a WHIP of 4.062. Granted he only threw 3.2 innings (2.2 in Game 2 of the series and then 1 in game 5) but these are awful numbers. He also was not pulled because of an injury in either game. These numbers, especially the ERA, have surely been matched by a reliever but Saberhagen got the ball to start both games.

    1979 WS Bruce Kison 108.00
    1980 WS Larry Christenson 108.00
    1998 ALDS Dwight Gooden 54.00
    1972 NLCS Bob Moose 54.00
    2006 NLCS Steve Trachsel 45.00
    1974 NLCS Doug Rau 40.50
    1932 WS Johnny Allen 40.50
    1984 WS Ed Whitson 40.50
    1971 WS Luke Walker 40.50
    1982 NLCS Rick Camp 36.00
    1937 WS Bud Hadley 33.75
    1998 ALDS Tim Wakefield 33.75

For relievers (disregarding the ones who didn't get anybody out) the highest is 162.00 by the late Josh Hancock in last years NLCS (6 earned runs in 1/3 of an inning).

I guess for the starters you could add the two that have an infinity ERA.

1981 WS Bob Welch (2 ER, 0 IP)
1917 WS Reb Russell (2 ER, 0 IP)
