Al East: disappointing.

So much was anticipated even expected from the powerful AL East right from the start.

Certainly no one could have anticipated the monumental collapse of the Boston Red Sox .
I mean 20 losses in September! Are you kidding me? I still can not understand what the hell happened :melting:.
It looked to me like they didn't care if they made it to the playoffs or not. :disbelief:

At least the Yankees & the Rays made it to the post season. But neither could make it past the first round.

2011 ended with a whimper . . .

I'm glad it's over.
Now lets see if the off season's wheeling & dealing can provide some hope for 2012.

Wow, I just realized that "Bitter Rivals" has been with us for 10 years.
Although it's not as popular as it once was, we certainly had a lot of fun corresponding, (ripping each other up) over the years.
I had a ball. Thanks to everyone who contributed!

I was just thinking back to all the fun so many people had here in these past 10 years.
I'm amazed that my 'Bitter Rivals' thread has had almost 9,500 posts and a half million views from people all over the world! :disbelief:
It just blows my mind.

I think you're right and I think they're going to be in the elite tier of teams for the foreseeable future which is necessary for developing a healthy, lasting rivalry.
